MATT SAT ON THE end of his bed, his head down and his eyes locked to the floor. his body was rigid and tense, his fingers clenched into a fist.

scarlett stood in front of him, her knees felt weak as if she was about to collapse. tears poured down her cheeks as she cried, her chest felt tight and she couldn't breathe properly.

scarlett sobbed loudly, her cries seemed to echoed through the bedroom. "you can't do this to me!" she yelled. her legs wobbled, the strength slowly draining from her body.

matt's face was blank despite the yelling, he gave no reaction to any of the tears spilling down her face. he continued to look at the floor in silence.

scarlett stumbled over to matt, and grabbed his arm. she shook him, trying to make him look at her. "please, say something! just look at me, please matt!" she cried, her voice getting desperate and hoarse.

matt pulled his arm away from her harshly, as if her touch was the last thing he needed.

scarlett's hand dropped to her side, her lips trembling as she tried to hold back another sob. her body shaking as she took a step backward.

matt continued to stare down at the floor, his body rigid and numb. no matter how much she pleaded and yelled at him, he didn't say a word.

"say something!" she demanded, her eyes pleaded for him to look at her.

matt slowly lifted his head to look at her, she finally got a reaction out of him. his eyes were cold and emotionless as they met hers. his lips stayed sealed as he continued to remain silent.

scarlett's heart broke as those cold eyes met her. the lack of emotion in them were enough to show he wouldn't say anything. she tried to blink away any more tears that wanted to fall, but it was a pointless effort.

tears continued to flow down her cheeks, her chest feeling too tight and her breathing getting increasingly shaky.

matt continued to stare at her with his cold and unwavering gaze. seeing her cry made his chest ache, a part of him wanted to hold her. however, he refused to show that side of him. his lips finally moved as he spoke.

"there's nothing left to say." he said in a cold and calm tone.

his tone shattered her heart even more, it was as if the matt she fell in love with was no longer there. hearing his dismissive and cold tone was enough to make another flood of tears fall down her cheeks.

scarlett stood there for a long moment, completely still. she tried to think of something to say, anything to change his mind. however, no words came to mind as his cold eyes remained locked onto hers.

matt continued to look at her, his tone remained cold and harsh. he wasn't making any move to reach for her, no words to comfort her. he was cold, and it was breaking her. she couldn't stand even looking at him.

scarlett sobbed again, fresh tears continued to fall. her body trembled, her hands clenched tightly into fists to try and stop the shaking.

"you can't do this matt!" she yelled, her voice cracking as more tears poured down her cheeks. "i love you, how can you throw away all our time together?"

her hands clenched tightly into fists as she let out another sob. it felt as if her heart was being clawed out of her chest. she wanted to beg him not to end things, to give her a reason. she needed to know she ever even meant something to him.

matt's eyes remained cold and emotionless as he watched her plead with him. the sound of her crying didn't faze him, it was like he was numb to it. he stood up from the bed, his eyes still locked on her.
