Clyde's Journey

Chapter 17

"Ruffles, how much farther is the castle?" Clyde asked.

"Just a few more blocks." replied Ruffles.

The group continued crawling through the vent until they made it to the end of the tunnel, a large iron hatch above them.

"I'll pull out the door, then the rest of you go in." explained Ruffles.

Ruffles pulled out the hatch, followed by Clyde climbing into the throne room.

"Wait, maybe we should make a pla-" Lilly asked, as Clyde bursted through the carpet that was covering the hatch.

Clyde jumped through the hatch, landing at the center of the throne room, facing toward Myles. Clyde, his determination as steady as ever, pulled both his daggers out of his pockets, pointing them toward Myles.

"I demand you give back my father's kingdom!" yelled Clyde, blinded with rage.

Myles stared at Clyde, stifling a chuckle. He tapped his fingers on the armrest, before gesturing toward his guards.

"You made a mistake to come here, boy. Guards, seize him!" commanded Myles.

Clyde looked around the room, observing the 30 or so guards that were after him. A guard suddenly lunged towards Clyde, his sword high in the air above Clyde, ready to strike. Suddenly, Ruffles jumped out of the hatch, his iron sword in his hands, and parried against the guard's attack.

Lilly, Poppy, and Sofia made their way up the hatch only to quickly be surrounded by guards. Lilly grabbed an arrow from her quiver and loaded her bow, pulling the string back as far as she could, releasing the arrow at one of the guards, only to see it be deflected by a metal plate.

"We're surrounded!" called out Ruffles.

Suddenly, loud, pounding noises came from the door. The door suddenly opened to reveal Wenzo and Tazoh, both of them armed with netherite swords, Ronaldo, armed with a large axe,  and Melissa, an enchanted crossbow in her hand.

Wenzo pointed his sword towards Myles. "This ends now."
