Personality
Oh Adjerkins, sweet Adjerkins.
Boy did you get the shaft.
And boy do you have the personality of blank printing paper.
Yes, Adrien is shown to have a good heart, sees only the best people, being Gabriel's punching bag, being naive and all that generic hero owo good boy stuff.
He's just...There.
He is inoffensive. He exists.
He dosn't make me want to pull my hair out or throw my TV out the window, and that's the problem. He never makes me feel ANYTHING and that's worse than being a bad charecter because atleast I can laugh with guilty pleasure and scream at the TV when Mairnette, Chloe or Gabriel are being their smoothbrain self.
But what the duck am I suppose to do with this milk toast white boy?
Boring the viewer is WAY worse than angering the viewer.
And the exact OPPOSITE is true for Chat Noire. He is hands down the funniest and most entertaining charecter in the show and his batner with Ladybug (when it is cute and not derogatory on her part) ia genuinly the best part of the show.
But even that comes with the caviat that we have to see the most likable charecter in the show be bullied, demeaned, bossed around and treated like a cataclysum tool by our main heroine, who is simping after in a very gross fashion.
But you know the first time I genuenly LIKED Adrien's personality?
When I saw that Miraculous PV online.
Adrien's original concept, AKA Felix, is someone who is unintrested in making friends, is exasperated by Plague and is overall a emo sad boy.
But Felix is aldready a charecter in the show, so doing the same thing wouldn't work.
However, If you mash Adrien's current 'personality' with his PV one, and sprinkle in some logic, you've got an AMAZING charecter.
So, In my version, Adrien HATES his father for neglecting him and basically abandoning him after his mother's death. Adrien neevr has a kind word to say to or about his father and mentions of him make Adrien visbly angry.
At the same time, Adrien is just a teenage boy who will obviously want and deserves his parent's approval.
In the original show, Gabriel is simulatniously shown to be an absentee father but also pushes Adrien to be perfect and the two things just don't make sense together.
In my version, Gabriel is ocmpletley withdrawn to the point Adrien dosn't see him for weeks on end.
It is actually Adrien who does all these extracuriculars like fencing, piano, chinese and modeling to get his father's approoval.
I am also going to put greater emphasis on his relations with Natahalie and Chloe which play into his relatioship with his father, but we'll get to that.
At school, I would have Adrien be an outcast right of the bat and stay that way for most of season 1 to 2, not only because he is friends with Chloe, but because of his own demeanor.
As someone who was homeschooled his entire life with his only social interactions being with high profile celebraties and social lights, Adrien come soff as snobish and arogant.
He speeks in a formal, soft, elegant, sophisticated tone and his every move is perfect, calculated, like a model. He is reserved, composed and dosn't understand teen lingo and is unfimilar with most things teens like to talk about like bands, movies, sports teams, video games, etc. I would also imagine that Adrien unknowingly flaunts his wealth by having a personal chief make him lunch and by wearing high brand cloaths to school, mabey even give backhanded remarks like how the cafeteria school dosn't seem edible, not even consideirng how offensive that is.
