THE HAUNTED MANSION

Found a book

All day, we all were roaming here and there, playing games and making fun of each other.
Now it is dinner time, dinner was ready, there was not any reason to delay it. My uncle is a very disciplined person, he always loves to do his work punctually. He called us in the dining room to have dinner together. While having dinner we all were quietly eating without talking.

My father asked"what happened to all of you now,why are you eating so quietly?"
"No talking while eating dad, table manners. You know?"Hannah gave a forceful smile while rolling her eyes towards her uncle.
Her dad giggled a bit while watching their innocent faces." Well it is better Hannah that you know about it, but you are not applying it here, Eat carefully without talking you might chok yourself."uncle smiles seriously.

"Uhmm...(Clears her throat) I guess your right uncle, I am sorry for this respecting table manners."Hannah smiled awkwardly.

"It's okay, now eat up and grow well."uncle smiled.

That was the most silent dinner she ever had with her family. They always talk about the whole day, about school, about friends, about the incidents that happened, she always thought that talking,sharing feelings and emotions make the family bonding stronger, but due to the busy schedule of all the family members they only get some time to talk while having dinner, she knew that discipline is important but at some time at some moments not following the rules and regulations of society makes life more fun.

Whatever, they all were so happy with the fact that they were together for some time and they were enjoying the time to the fullest.

John was with his mother,helping her with the dishes,while others were all in the room discussing the horror movies and stories, real life paranormal activity etc.

After doing the dishes his mom asked him to put some utensils like plates which were quite old, and bring the new ones for the guest from the basement.
He wanted to join the group with the conversation that's why he hurried to do the work assigned by his mom.

He ran towards stairs heading to the basement, taking ascending steps downward.
Opened the door with creaky noise, as the door wasn't repaired for a long time, walking forward to the rag, put the utensils beneath the row and picked up then you once. He was about to leave the basement but suddenly tripped on something, he looked down and noticed  that it was a book that he never saw before.

               THE BASEMENT DOOR

He seemed to be interested in that book, picked it and carried it with him. When he arrived in the kitchen with the utensils and the book. He handed over utensils to his mom.
"Good night mom."John greeted and started walking towards the room where all the kids were playing.

"Night dear."she replied when she was talking to him, she spotted a book in his hand which wasn't familiar or similar to his academic books or comic books he usually read.
"What's there in your hand, John"His mom asked with the confused look.

"Oh ! This?, actually mom, when I was bringing the utensils from the basement, I accidentally tripped on it, I found it interesting so I thought of reading it."John replied.
"Okay, but I've never seen a bog like this in the basement before. Let me take a look.she asked.

John handed  over the book to his mom.
"Oh! wow! this is based upon a real life horror story. The writer is Tony Aristocrat."see exclaimed "you know what,john, he is your dad's friend, he came to a house once when you were young I haven't seen him since then."

"Well, forget it,after all this don't wake up too late,sleep early. Okay?"she asked and returned the book to him.
"Okay mom, good night"said John and took  his steps forward to the room.

Mrs liverhood was still confused about the book, she was continuously thinking about the book and how it came in the basement.

John entered the room where all the kids were playing and gossiping about ghosts.
"What are you all doing?, again gossiping about your fake stories of Ghost,Witches and spirits." said John.
"Well I think someone needs to study but wasting his time here."Hannah mocked him.

"And I think your result of the middle semester will be out in 2 days and I am going to collect it basically in simple words, I will be going to save you from our parents that day."John chuckled softly.
"Whatever, I found an interesting thing for you all and we all will read it today, I guess this is more interesting in a horror movie."John said.

John shows in the book which he found in the basement.
It was a book, with a dusty cover,a picture of a creepy mansion made with the title of 'The Haunted mansion'. Its pages were slightly pale then original. It seemed like a 15 to 20 year old book.

                          THE BOOK

When he opened that, there was a name of the author-' professor Tony Aristocrat'. They were quite excited to read because on the front page there was written 'BASED ON TRUE EVENTS'. This made them think that, how a horror story can be true?

"I've heard from a lot of people that this professor writes stories after a proper investigation." John said.

"How can we believe you?"question Hannah.
"Well,I think I agree with John, because this author is quite popular in our locality. And the 'Haunted mansion' is his last book published, after this, no one knows where he is and his team, because while investigating the story one of the steam members died so he stopped writing after that."karl stated.

"I guess this makes the story more interesting,after your statement karl as this proves that the story is true" Hannah said excitedly.

Mrs. liverhood was still engrossed in her thoughts that, she didn't notice that the milk she kept on gas was boiling and spilling out.
Mr liverhood noticed and asked-" what happened,honey? in what thoughts are you lost that you didn't spotted the milk was spilling out vigorously."

"Uugh-gh, I'm sorry. I was just thinking about Tony's book in John's hand, which he found in the basement, that I just forgot about the milk."she replied.

"Don't worry, it's okay. But can you explain what you are talking about?" Dad asked.

"Actually, after the dinner John came to ask for any help he can do for me, so I asked him to bring new utensils from the basement, when he returned, he was having a Book titled 'the Haunted mansion' which was written by Tony. I asked him about it, and he replied that he found it in the basement. I was confused, it's been years since Tony visited her house, and I never witnessed any of his books in the basement, where it suddenly occurred from nowhere."

"Oh! I am also wondering how?he exclaimed "I think you need some rest, you have been  working so hard since morning, don't worry about John,and I will clean this,you can go to bed now."he asked her.
