Two | THE DATE...
Chapter Two

The school hallways were packed as usual, it being filled with teens of all ages, barging each other jokingly or laughing amongst their friend groups. Every single morning I fought with my locker, forcefully trying to jam all my books into the small, already crowded  space.

"Just trust me this time," Heeseung began as he leaned against the lockers beside me, staring with pleading eyes whilst clutching his bag strap that was swung over his left shoulder. "He's nice, funny, and he will definitely pay for dinner unlike the last guy." He tried to convince.

I kissed my teeth and craned my neck, "I'm not sure.. all the guys you've ever set me up with have just turned out to be complete weirdos." I commented before finally slamming my locker door shut.

I turned to make my way down the hallway, attempting to make it to my first lesson — Heeseung quickly following after me and throwing his arm over my shoulder, just as he usually did. "I really mean it this time, he's a nice guy and I know exactly what his type is." He tried to persuade, "I'll come round your house later and help you pick an outfit that I know he will love."

I didn't want to go on this date at all, and I didn't quite frankly care what outfit will impress the mystery man. But the sound of Heeseung's annoying begging and whining was starting to drive me insane. "Fine." I forcefully agreed. "But this doesn't mean I'm doing anything for you in return - like asking Hana about you for example."

And just those words alone, made Heeseung stop in his tracks and pull me to stand with him. "I'm setting you up with a nice guy and you can't even do me one favour?" He sassily questioned, placing his hands on his hips with an unpleased expression.

A scoff passed my lips and my eyes rolled in return, "well, if he's such a 'nice' guy, then why don't you go on a date with him?" I teased, causing Heeseung's jaw to slightly drop and for his head to shake repeatedly — a crimson colour seeping up onto his cheeks.

"I-I- that's not even what I mean." He spoke all flustered. "All you have to do is ask her what she thinks about me, and I promise this is the last time I will ask you for any favours including Hana." The cherry haired boy stated, placing his two hands together to empathise his desperation.

Our eyes didn't hover or hesitant to look away from one another's. "Okay. Whatever." My grumpy tone spoke out as I let out a tut and a huff in conclusion. When it came to Heeseung, he was my best friend and the one person that's stuck by me all these years — so it was only natural that I had earned a soft spot for him.

"Yes!" He excitedly expressed with a huge grin now appearing across his face as his arms spread out and wrapped around me. "You're the best, thank you- thank you!" He cheered and quickly pecked my cheek before rushing off into the crowd of students.
