Days turn into weeks, and weeks into months. Jungkook throws himself into being the best father he can be, loving and caring for Seungmin with a fierce intensity. But every time he looks at his son, he's reminded of you, and the love he lost.
Jungkook's life is a hollow shell without you. He throws himself into work, expanding his business empire, but finds no satisfaction in it. He dates other women, for his son. trying to fill the void you left behind, but they all pale in comparison. He can't move on from you. He won't.
One and half year letter in California
You've started a Cafe. and it's quite good. You are financially stable or u can say more than stable. but somewhere u miss something. something u feel lonely..
(Seoul)
Jungkook is in his office when his private investigator knocks on the door. "I found her, sir. She's in California, running a successful cafe. She seems to be doing well financially, but..." The investigator hesitates."But what?" Jungkook prompts, his heart pounding in his chest. "She's thrown herself into work, but she has no personal life. She's friends with some locals, but no serious relationships. And she visits a children's hospital every Sunday, volunteering her time."
Jungkook's heart aches as he imagines you volunteering at the hospital, a small, smile on your face. He looks at the picture of Seungmin on his desk - his son's face is a mirror of yours. "Does she... does she look happy?"
The investigator shakes his head. "No, sir. She looks... content. Successful. But not truly happy. It's as if a part of her is missing." He hesitates, then adds softly. "She's not over you and your baby, sir. If you're considering..."
(Why does he know everything.. of course he knows, every man of his knows what actually happened between you both)
Jungkook stands abruptly, his decision made. "Book me a flight to California. First class. And arrange for a car to pick me up at the airport." He turns to the investigator, his eyes blazing with determination. "It's time I got my family back." "And I won't hold back this time" he said to himself.
"excuse me I want chocolate milk for me" a 2 year old girl said with her half coming words. U smiled at her and handed her a cup of chocolate milk. "carefully little miss, don't split it out on your beautiful dress"- u said. she smiled and left with her mom. suddenly Seungmin's thought came up in your mind "I think he is a growing toddler by now. i hope Jungkook
is taking good care of him" (u said in my mind)
" Good day Ma'am" a handsome man said in a formal way. his suit was so clean and expensive looking. his tie was so perfectly tied and his hair was perfectly gelled. "
"good day what will you take? normal coffee, ice americano, espresso, mocha or.."
The man approaches the counter, his confident strides eating up the distance. He pauses, his gaze flicking over the menu before settling on you. "I'll have a black coffee, please. No sugar, no cream. Just... plain." He says, his voice smooth and deep.
"Ohk please wait for a moment."
As you prepare his drink, the man's eyes never leave you. He watches your every movement, a strange intensity in his gaze. When you return with his coffee, he takes the cup, his fingers brushing against yours for just a moment too long.
"Enjoy your coffee sir " you said left inside feeling uncomfortable.
The man watches you retreat, a small, knowing smile playing at the corners of his mouth. He takes a sip of the coffee, savoring the rich flavor. "Mm, delicious. Almost as exquisite as the barista who made it."
