[back to Nayeon and Tzuyu]
In their cozy shared dorm, Nayeon lounged on her bed, scrolling through her phone, while Tzuyu sat at her desk, reviewing notes for an upcoming quiz.
The faint hum of campus life outside their window blended with the soft playlist playing in the background.
"You know," Nayeon started, tossing her phone onto her bed, "Mina's attitude is getting worse by the day. She bumped into me yesterday and didn't even bother to apologize. As usual."
Tzuyu glanced over her shoulder, her expression neutral. "That sounds like her. She always thinks she's above everyone else."
"Ugh, don't even get me started," Nayeon said, sitting up. "But you know what? Let's not waste our energy on her. We've got bigger things to talk about."
Tzuyu raised an eyebrow, sensing where this was going. "Bigger things? Like what?"
"Like Chaeyoung!" Nayeon grinned mischievously.
Tzuyu turned back to her notes, trying to keep her face neutral. "What about him?"
"Oh, don't play coy with me, Miss Tall-and-Sly," Nayeon teased, leaning forward with a smirk. "You like him, don't you?"
Tzuyu froze for a split second before recovering. "I do... a little."
Nayeon rolled her eyes. "Come on, Tzu. It's written all over your face whenever he's around. You light up like a Christmas tree."
Tzuyu sighed, setting her pen down and swiveling her chair to face Nayeon. "Okay, fine. I like him a lot.
"Ecstatic," Nayeon replied, clapping her hands together. "Now, you need to do something about it. You can't just wait around for him to magically figure it out."
Tzuyu hesitated. "I already asked him to the homecoming dance."
"And that's great," Nayeon said, "but why not take it a step further? Go on a date with him before the dance. It'll give you two a chance to connect without all the fancy suits and dresses in the way."
"A date?" Tzuyu repeated, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
"Yes, a date!" Nayeon exclaimed. "Something simple, like grabbing coffee or going for a walk around campus. You don't have to plan a whole romantic extravaganza."
Tzuyu bit her lip, considering the idea. "What if he says no?"
"He won't," Nayeon assured her. "Chaeyoung's the kind of guy who would never turn you down, especially not for something like that. You just need to take the leap."
Tzuyu leaned back in her chair, letting out a deep breath. "Alright. I'll try."
"Good!" Nayeon said, beaming.
"Trust me, Tzuyu, you won't regret it. Besides, it's about time you stopped staring at him from afar and actually made a move."
Tzuyu laughed softly, her nerves still present but slightly eased by Nayeon's encouragement. "Okay, okay. I'll figure out how to ask him tomorrow."
"That's my girl!" Nayeon cheered, flopping back onto her bed with a satisfied smile.
As Tzuyu returned to her desk, her mind raced with possibilities. The thought of going on a date with Chaeyoung filled her with equal parts excitement and anxiety, but deep down, she knew Nayeon was right—it was time to take a chance.
As the room settled into darkness, the soft glow of moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting faint silhouettes of Nayeon and Tzuyu in their beds. The hum of the campus had stopped, and the only sound was the occasional rustle of the sheets as they shifted to get comfortable.
