The sound of the wind whispering through the trees filled the camp, the flames of the fire flickering in response. Gabriel sat on a log near the fire, his eyes fixed on the glowing embers as he let his thoughts drift. The ritual had taken a toll on all of them, but it had also given them something invaluable: a bond that was unbreakable. He could still feel it, a warmth deep in his chest, a connection that went beyond words.

Footsteps crunched softly behind him, and Gabriel looked up, catching sight of Sophia approaching. She gave him a gentle smile, her eyes reflecting the firelight as she sat down beside him, her shoulder brushing against his.

- You look like you're lost in thought again - she said, her voice light with a hint of teasing.

Gabriel smiled, shaking his head slightly.

- I guess I am. It's been a lot to take in, everything we've done. Everything we still have to do.

Sophia nodded, her expression growing more serious.

- I know. But we're stronger now. I can feel it. Whatever comes next, we'll be ready.

Gabriel looked at her, the warmth of her confidence spreading through him. He nodded, his gaze softening.

- You're right. We are stronger. And it's because of all of you. I couldn't ask for a better group of people to stand with.

Sophia smiled, her eyes never leaving his.

- And we couldn't ask for a better leader. We trust you, Gabriel. No matter what happens, we're with you.

Gabriel felt his chest tighten at her words, the sincerity in her voice touching something deep inside him. He reached out, his hand covering hers as he gave it a gentle squeeze.

- Thank you, Sophia. That means more than I can say.

A rustling sound interrupted them, and they both turned to see Vincent approaching, his usual grin firmly in place.

- Am I interrupting something, or is this a private meeting? - Vincent asked, his tone playful as he raised an eyebrow.

Sophia laughed, shaking her head.

- Not at all, Vincent. Just having a quiet moment.

Vincent gave Gabriel a knowing look, then plopped down on the log next to them, leaning back and stretching his legs out in front of him.

- Good, because I was starting to feel left out. Thought maybe you two were plotting something without me.

Gabriel chuckled, his expression easing into something more relaxed.

- You're always welcome, Vincent. Though I'm not sure you'd want to be involved in all my brooding thoughts.

Vincent grinned, giving Gabriel a friendly nudge.

- Hey, someone's got to balance out all that brooding. Besides, you know you love having me around to keep things interesting.

Sophia shook her head, her laughter mingling with the crackling of the fire.

- He's got a point, Gabriel. Things would be a lot less lively without him.

Gabriel rolled his eyes, though there was warmth in his voice as he replied.

- Alright, alright. You win. I guess I'd miss you if you weren't here, Vincent.

Vincent's grin widened, and he clapped a hand on Gabriel's shoulder.

- See? I knew you liked me.

They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, the fire casting shadows across their faces. The weight of what they had done, the bond they had forged, still hung in the air, but it was balanced by the warmth of their camaraderie.
