The conversation about Sarah's wedding was in full swing, with everyone sharing their excitement and discussing the upcoming event. The atmosphere was filled with joy and anticipation. I sat there listening, but in the midst of all the chatter, I realized I hadn't seen Maha around. I wondered where she was, so I turned to Asma Aunty and asked, "By the way, where is Maha?"

Asma Aunty looked at me and smiled. "Oh, Maha couldn't come because she couldn't get leave from her college," she explained. "But don't worry, she's really looking forward to the wedding and will definitely be there. She's so excited about it!"

I nodded, feeling relieved to hear that Maha would be attending. But as I turned my attention to my brother, I noticed his expression. He was sitting there, staring off into space, and something about the way he looked caught my attention. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but I thought I saw a flicker of something unusual in his eyes. I decided it was probably nothing, just my imagination running wild, but it still stayed on my mind for a moment. I shook it off, thinking that maybe I was just overthinking things.

The conversation then shifted to other aspects of the wedding. My mother began talking about Ayan's parents and how they were preparing for the big day. I glanced at Ayan as my mother spoke, and suddenly, our eyes met. For a moment, it felt like time slowed down. We exchanged a brief glance, and I felt an odd sense of connection between us. It was hard to describe, but there was something in that eye contact that felt different, like there was something unspoken between us. I didn't know what he was feeling in that moment, but the intensity of that fleeting glance made my heart race, and I couldn't quite shake the feeling that something had shifted.

I didn't know why, but something about the whole situation seemed off. Maybe it was just the excitement surrounding the wedding, or maybe it was just me reading too much into the small moments, but that eye contact left me feeling confused and curious. I tried to focus on the conversation again, but the feeling lingered.

As the chatter around the room continued, my mother spoke up again, this time with a more serious tone. "You all should take some rest. The journey was long enough, and I'm sure everyone is tired," she suggested. Ayan's parents nodded in agreement and stood up to head to the guest room. Zain and Ayan, who had been talking non-stop throughout the conversation, decided to go to Zain's room .

My sister and I decided it was time to head to our own rooms as well. We stood up and started walking toward the hallway, but just as we were about to leave the room, my mother called out to Sarah. "Sarah, beta, aap ruk jao, humein aap se kuch baat karni hai," she said, her voice calm but serious.

My sister stopped in her tracks and turned around, surprised by my mother's request. "Ji, Ammi," she replied, walking back toward my mother, who had a concerned expression on her face. I watched from the doorway, wondering what the conversation was going to be about. It seemed important.

My mother looked at Sarah with a gentle yet thoughtful expression, her eyes filled with love and concern. "Beta, I just want to know, are you happy with this wedding? We know that this was our choice, and we arranged this marriage. But if there's even the slightest doubt in your heart, if you don't feel comfortable or happy about this marriage, you can say no. We won't force you to go through with it. If you don't want it, we will respect your decision, and we'll cancel everything right away. It's important that you're happy."

There was a pause as Sarah processed her mother's words. She looked at her with a soft smile and said, "Ammi, I'm happy. I truly am." Her tone was reassuring, and it was clear from her expression that she meant it. It was a relief to my mother, who seemed to relax a little at Sarah's response.

But my mother, still a little worried, continued with a more serious tone, "Sarah, you have to understand something. A man's heart isn't as elastic as a mother's love. A mother's love can stretch indefinitely to accommodate your needs, but a man's heart... well, it can only stretch so far. Don't ever feel that you can't speak up or that you're trapped in something just because it's what we've chosen for you."

Sarah looked at her mother with understanding and love in her eyes. She knew how much her mother cared for her, and she could feel the depth of her concern. After a moment of quiet reflection, Sarah finally spoke, her voice soft but certain. "Ammi, hamne bhi to pasand kiya hai," she said, reassuring her mother once again. "I also like him, and I want this marriage to happen. I'm happy with everything."

Hearing those words, my mother's expression softened even further, and a small sigh of relief escaped her. She reached out to hold Sarah's hands, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I'm so glad, beta," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "I just want you to be happy. That's all that matters to me."

Sarah smiled, feeling the warmth of her mother's love. "I know, Ammi. And I'm happy. I promise."

After that, mother hugged Sarah tightly, and I could see how deeply their bond was. It was a moment of understanding, a moment where my mother's fears and concerns were put to rest. As they embraced, I felt a wave of warmth and comfort wash over me. There was something so deeply emotional about seeing their connection, and it reminded me of how much love and care my mother always showed us, even in moments of uncertainty.

The conversation ended on a hopeful note, with my mother reassuring Sarah that no matter what, her happiness would always come first. With the matter settled, Sarah and my mother let go of their embrace
