The day of the dance came. V arrived at the school. She wore the same dress she wore when she went to prom. She opened the doors and was greeted by loud music and chatter. She was overwhelmed.

"V?"

V turned her head towards the voice. She was greeted by N and Uzi. N wore the same suit he wore at prom as well. She pushed back her nervousness. "Why did I agree to this?" V muttered. "Cmon." Uzi and N began walking away. She followed them. They stopped in a quieter section of the room. She anxiously looked around. It was dimly lit, and small crowds of drones were throughout the room. "Are you okay?" V looked down at Uzi, briefly startled. V took a breath. "Yeah." She momentarily flinched in surprise as Uzi grabbed both of her hands. "If this is too much for you, I understand. I'm sorry if I was a little pushy, I just thought it would be nice to spend some time together." V felt frozen, the music dazing her senses. Is this what they called a panic attack?

She never felt scared before. She was a disassembly drone. "No, it's fine." V said, pulling away from her. "Anyway- what do you do at a dance?" She asked. Uzi chuckled. "Well, dance."

"I don't know how to dance." V said. "I don't know either." Uzi said. "Want to try it together?" V smiled. "Yes."

"We don't have to go on the dance floor." Uzi said. She then extended one of her hands. V took it. They danced for a while, V hating every second of it, but she couldn't pull away. Being in Uzi's presence made her nervousness fade. As they danced V took glances at Uzi. The way she smiled softly at V, her eyes full of understanding. She knew V was nervous. It instantly melted her fear. She never been this close to her before. This came to the realization that Uzi was beautiful. Not just of her looks, but the way she acted. She was fun to be around, she was funny.

Wait.

Oh no.

V stopped abruptly dancing.

The realization hit her.

"Are you okay?" Uzi asked.

"I'm...fine." She forced out, the anxiety instinctively made her squeeze Uzi's hand.

"Do you want to stop dancing?" Uzi asked.

She didn't.

"Uh- yes."

Uzi let go.

"I need a minute." V said, and quickly went out of the room.

She went to sit on one of the benches outside of the room.

She took deep breaths.

"V?" A familiar voice said.

She looked up to see N.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yes." She snapped, a low growl in her throat.

"Want to talk about it?" He asked.

"Theres nothing to talk about." She said, her act faltering as her voice cracked.

Why did emotions make her act like this.

"Sure?' He said.

She paused for a moment.

"Well...how do you know if you like someone?"

"Why- who do you like?" N asked.

She crossed her arms. "Nobody."

"Well, if you ask that then you probably do." N said.

V sighed.

"Hey...it's okay to like someone. I know it's hard...ever since J-"

"Stop." V hissed.

"Sorry..."

She couldn't help but to open the memory file. She remembered she had feelings for J, and confessed to her. It didn't end well. The expression on J's face. Her ignoring her.

"Cmon, how about we go inside?" N said.

"Okay."

They both stood up and went inside.

They found Uzi alone, sitting on a bench.

"Sorry about that." V said.

Uzi smiled. "it's okay."

"It's getting late..."

"Yeah, I'm going to head home." Uzi said.

"Me too."

"Well, see you tomorrow." V said.

"See you tomorrow."
