Placing my palm on the cool, clear glass, I watch the various types and colors of fish swim around in the water.

A small smile is planted on my lips as I finally feel like I can have a moment of peace from the chaos of this karate tournament.

"Do you think it's beautiful?" a quiet voice calls from behind me.

I turn my head around, looking to see who the voice belongs to, only to find Kwon standing there.

His hands were in his pockets, and his face was blank, no smirk or cocky expression. It was almost as if my evident calmness made his attitude soften.

"Yes," I answer in a gentle voice, turning my head to look back at the fish that danced around in the water in front of me. I can hear his footsteps as he walks toward me, coming up to stand next to me. I refuse to look away from the glass and meet his eyes.

"Did you need something?" I ask quietly.

I can feel his eyes burning into the side of my head.

"Miyagi-do, how do you know them?" He questions, and I turn my head to look at him. To my surprise, his eyes are filled with genuine curiosity.

"I was an exchange student last year in America. While I was there, I met people from Miyagi-do and Cobra Kai, " I replied, a small smile forming on my lips.

He nods his head, and I can see him contemplating what he would respond,

"Were they always this pathetic?"

And there it was.

The cocky and ignorant boy was back. I had only seen a calm and peaceful side of him for about 1 minute before he decided to go back to being an asshole.

I scoffed, "Do you always have something negative to say?" My smile had fallen, and my brows furrowed.

He lets out a huff, "It's not negative, it's true." I open my mouth to say something but close it, not wanting to engage in pointless arguing. We both stand there, looking at the fish in a comfortable silence for a couple of minutes.

"What are you doing to me?" he breaks the silence, his tone of voice soft but frustrated,

"What?" I ask, my mouth going dry, wondering what he meant.

I turned my head to look up at him, noticing how his face was back to that calm expression, but this time, there was a hint of nervousness etched into it.

"I-" he starts but gets cut off,

"Kwon," one of his teammates yells. We both quickly snap our heads to the sound of the voice. Yoon stands at the end of the glass hallway, eyebrows raised,

"We are going to get dinner, Sensei Kim expects you to be there," he says.

Kwon gives me one last look, his expression now frustrated, mad he couldn't say what was on his mind.

I watch his back as he saunters off before turning around and going back to watching the peaceful fish. I tried to ignore it, but I was desperate to know what he was going to say.

KWON'S POINT OF VIEW

I lay in the soft hotel bed, surrounded by various pillows. Although I was very comfortable, I couldn't fall asleep. I wish I could blame it on the fact that it's because I'm not sleeping in my own bed, but deep down, I know it's because of the lingering thoughts I have about my interaction with Annette.

I couldn't get that girl out of my mind, no matter how hard I tried. She had captivated me since the first time I laid eyes on her.

I didn't understand it. Whenever I looked into those deep brown eyes of hers, I couldn't resist the undeniable pull I felt towards her.

I got jealous when I saw her male teammates get so close to her, and I couldn't stand watching her laugh and joke with them because I wished it was me.

Getting out of bed, I grab a white shirt and slide it over my head.

I needed to get fresh air and clear these distracting thoughts from my mind before the tournament tomorrow.

Unlocking my door, I make my way down the hallway before pausing at the sight in front of me.

There stood Annette, dressed in a light blue crop top and pajama shorts. She was looking out of the window. The illumination from the moon shined down on her face.

She looked like an angel.

It brought back memories from today when I talked to her at the aquarium.

This was my chance to finally get these undeniable feelings off of my chest.

"Couldn't sleep?"

She whips her head around, clearly startled by my sudden intrusion. I watch her expression of shock fall, a small smile pricking the edge of her lips.

She was always smiling.

Her smile was beautiful.

"No. I imagine you couldn't either?"

I give a small nod and step closer to her.

"I can't seem to stay away from you, Annette," I say quietly. Her eyes darted across my face, unsure of what that meant.

"I can't get you out of my mind-" I cut myself off, embarrassed that I was being this vulnerable to a girl who probably loathed me. My thoughts racing, I look down at the floor, but before I can do anything else, a soft hand cups my face.

My eyes widen, shooting up to meet Annettes.

Her eyes were gleaming, and the smile she wore was so inviting,

"I can't seem to get you off my mind either, kwon," she says in a gentle voice, and with those words, I bring my lips to hers. Placing my hand on her back, I pull her into a deep kiss. She reciprocates it with urgency.

Her lips are soft and warm, and I can taste a hint of strawberry, probably from her lip gloss.

We break apart after 20 seconds, gasping for air. My hands stay on the small of her back, but she slowly pulls her hand away from my cheek. I grab her wrist, stopping her from pulling it back.

We stare into one another's eyes, still shocked at what just happened.

"We should go to sleep; the tournament starts tomorrow, and we both need to get sleep..." her voice starts to fade off, but the look in her eyes tells me she doesn't want to leave.

The hallway is quiet for a few moments, the only thing that can be heard is the faint sound of our breaths. Everything is still before we both connect our lips once again.

There was one thing we both felt,

a rush of adrenaline
