MIRIA'S POINT OF VIEW
"«Death's Embrace» fourth form: flight of the Butterfly."
I then launch a series of attacks. I run up behind him and unleash a vertical slash. He tried to grab me there, and I ducked down before running to his other side, releasing a frontal attack. My attack didn't hit him.
"Is that all?! I expected much better than you!" He laughs as my attack only grazes him or doesn't even hit him.
«Flight of the butterfly»
This form is a mesmerizing dance of deception and attrition. The user moves with the unpredictable grace of a butterfly, their sword a blur of motion. Each swing, though seemingly random and pointless-a flurry of feints, near-misses, and incomplete strikes-releases an almost invisible cloud of neurotoxin-laced dust. To the human eye, it's barely perceptible, a faint shimmer in the air. However, to demons, the effects are significant, though not immediately lethal as it was only a small amount.
"Think what you want." I said as I jumped backwards to create some distance, and his eyes widened. "This... keugh!" He let out as he glared at me. "That's right... It is a Wisteria in a very small amount." I said, panting because of all that, I still can't keep up with the needed speed of this form.
I then turned around and was about to leave. I let my guard down, a mistake. Despite him struggling as even a smell of the wisteria is poison to them, this should make him very dizzy, but no, that didn't stop him.
Out of nowhere, one of his hands hit me, and I crashed to the nearby tree. "Keugh!" I cough blood. That was such a strong force...
'I can't die here... I need to avenge my mom...' I thought as the dust made of wisteria has now been blown away by the wind. I stood up and held my blade in front of me as he walked towards me. He's angry. I can tell.
He used two of his hands to try and kill me. He clapped his hand, and I jumped out of the way, 'That was dangerous.' I thought to myself, but I saw one of his hands coming in my direction. 'I can't dodge this one mid-air!' I tried to slash it with my sword, but I missed and it made no wound as I hit against another tree. My vision became blurry, but my earlier injuries are healing a slight faster than humans but not fast like demons.
'I need to keep going... I still need to get revenge for my mother.'
"I won't let it end like this!"
I yelled, my vision became red, all I could see was red, and the desire to kill. Out of nowhere, I don't know how or when I learned about it, but the words just left my lips.
"«Blood Demon Art|Crimson rose»"
As the words left my lips, I could feel something behind me. It was shaped into a rose with lots of thorns, but the petals were still not in bloom.
"Thorned Embrace," I said as I extended my hand toward the target, it's like my body wasn't mine to control.
Thorned Embrace is where the rose's thorns extend into sharp, blood-infused blades, capable of slicing through enemies with incredible speed and precision but this need to be weild with expertise so as not to hurt anyone other than the target.
The thorns of the rose became separated to it and became as sharp as it can be and as I point towards the target, it just fly in a straight direction, some hit the demon but, it wasn't enough to kill him.
Soon, I completely lose control of my own and fled as I know I won't be able to defeat that demon. When I regained my control, my hands were already outstretched to Meiko.
"Hwaran... are you okay?" She asks, and I let my hand fall to my side. "M-meiko..." I let out. It seems that Meiko has already gotten out of her shocked constitution.
The sun then slowly rises, casting a glow on the forest. "Let's go now, Hwaran." She said as I nodded, and we both went out of the mountain with the other participants who survived.
-
"Congratulations." The white-haired girl said while I looked around me, three males and three girls. It seems that all who survive was the one Meiko saved and the two male and one girl back there and Meiko and I.
"We're pleased to see that you are safe." Said the one with black hair.
"We will begin in your uniforms. We will take your measurements, after your ranks are engraved." They said.
"There are currently 10 ranks." They said.
"Kinoe."
"Kinoto."
"Hinoe."
"Hinoto."
"Tsuchinoe."
"Tsuchinoto."
"Kanoe."
"Kanoto."
"Mizunoe."
"and Mizunoto."
"Currently, you all are in the lowest rank. Mizunoto." I listen to what they were saying until it became to choosing the ore for our sword.
"The sword will take ten to fifteen days to complete, for now..."
The two said. The first word was said by the white haired, and the second was the black haired. They speak after one another in sync
"We will now assign each of you your own Kusagai crow." They said.
The white-haired girl clapped her hands two times, and six black birds came and landed on our arms or hands or shoulder.
"This Kasugai crows can primary be used for communication." They added as I looked at the crow on my shoulder.
After we were given that, we all proceeded to go to where the ores are, and we all think before choosing as they don't seem any different. Nevertheless, I just chose the ore where I felt a stronger energy than the others.

I am currently on my way back home. I am exhausted. But I realized a few things. It's up entirely to demons whether they want to consume me or not, I don't know if the blood of my father attracted them or the blood of my mother.
I hate it, I really hate that I have my father's blood flowing through my veins. Because of it, I almost killed Meiko... I'm disgusted.
