Chapter 11: A Leap of Faith

Y/N's P.O.V

I'm still in my bedroom and webbed up to the chair.

I've tried getting out, but my super strength won't work.

I just can't get out.

Just then I see someone's shadow outside the door.

Daniel: Y/N. Y/N, it's your dad. Please open the door. I can see you moving around in there.

I roll over to the door.

He sighs.

Daniel: Yeah, I get it. You're not in the mood to talk. Look, can you just sit there and listen?

He sighs.

James: Something happened to your... your brother... he's...

I know he's talking about Jason.

He's trying hold back the tears.

Daniel: Look sometimes people drift apart, Y/N. And I don't want that to happen to us, son. I really don't. Not like it did with Jason and I. Now, I know I don't always do what you need me to do or say what you need me to say. Lord knows I'm not exactly father of the year or anything, but I love you so much, buddy. More than you know.

He sighs.

Daniel: Just know that I love you with everything I got. You are the best part of me, Y/N. You have been since the day you were born. I... I just see this spark in you. It's amazing, that's why I push you so hard. But it's yours. Whatever you choice to do with it, you'll be great. I know it.

I lean my head against the door.

Daniel: Look, just call me when you're ready, okay? I love you, Y/N. You don't have to say it back though.

After that I see him walk away.

I roll back in the chair.

Dad's right.

This spark is mine, this power is mine and I'll do what I need to do.

I feel the spark and activate my Venom Blast to break through the webbing.

It also blasts the chair apart.

After that I stand up and see the sparks coming off my hands.

Y/N: It worked.

Now I'm gonna need a new suit.

I then go to the window and jump out of it.

I make it back to May's house back in Queens.

I take the elevator down to the Spider Cave and see May sitting there waiting for me.

May: Took you long enough.

Y/N: I need a new suit, May. Did Peter have something that could do that?

May: He did.

She and I go over to a fabrication unit.
