Chapter 4:

I drove Santana home after our trip to Dalton. I got a text as I was about to pull out of her driveway. The text was from Jeff.

"Hey! It's Jeff! :)" it said. I smiled and continued home. Somewhere where I would do anything to get away from.

I finally got home, wishing I was anywhere else. I parked my car into our garage and walked inside the house. I took a breath, and walked into my hectic home.

I walked in and kicked my wedges off. I heard screaming and crying and my pregnant, hormonal mother scolding at my siblings.

I have 2 other siblings and a girl on the way. Blake, my older brother was currently watching the news, shirtless. Then, I watched my mother chase my little brother, James, around while he was shirtless as well.

I have always gotten along with James, he was so cute. He has light brown hair, and was average height compared to all the other four year olds. He had a very creative mind, and he was always shy when he meets new people, but will warm up to them eventually.

Blake, however, has golden hair and he looks like a Hollywood star. He has tan skin, and works out constantly. All my friends drool over him.

I've never really gotten along with Blake. I always try to be nice to him, but he just doesn't accept that I'm a teenage, independent woman now. He still thinks that I can't take care of myself, and that I constantly am bringing disappointment.

"Mom, I got him," I said. She went back to the stove, finishing cooking the spaghetti.

"LiLi!" James squeals, running into my legs.

"Hey, how was pre-k?" I ask, crouching down to his height.

"Great! And guess what I did?" He whispered. I brought my ear to his mouth as he said,"I asked Rosie to marry me! We ran to the jungle gym and we got married with all our friends watching!" he said.

I laughed and shook my head. "Go pick out a coloring book, and bring out some colors. I'll be in your room in a few minutes." I told him, looking up at Blake. He was staring at us, no expression at all. James ran off as I gave a slight smile to Blake. He just turned his head back to the news on TV. I frowned, rolling my eyes, and went to my room to drop off my bags.

I quickly replied to Jeff to make sure he didn't think I was ignoring him. "Hey Jeff (:" I typed back. I like him, and I barely even know him. I guess I have to just make sure I can go to Dalton as much as I can.

I went to Dalton a few times every week for about a month now and let's just say, Jeff is great. He treats me like the sweetest person ever. Not like those other dicks back at McKinley.

Today, I was going to Lima Bean for a much needed coffee break. I was waiting in line when I felt someone poke my sides. I quickly turn around and Jeff's face is right up against mine. I swear, if we moved a little closer, we would've been kissing. He smiled down at me.

"Hey beautiful," he said. Did he just call me beautiful? I felt my face getting hot. I almost stopped breathing, this boy was going to be the end of me.

"Hi Jeffery," I giggle lightly. We scooted up in the line a little more, and I felt Jeff stare at me. I looked up at him for a few seconds before I asked, "What?"

"Nothing," he smiled, turning his attention to the cashier who was now waiting for us to order.

"I would like a strawberry lemonade and a caramel latte for her," he said, looking at me, then handing the cashier money. I gave him some money, but he refused it. "Jeff, no. I'm paying," I protested. He shook his head as we moved away so someone else could pay.

"What are you doing tomorrow?" he asked me. I looked at him curiously. "What's tomorrow?" I asked, grabbing my drink and saying thank you to the lady.

"Friday", he said, smirking. I thought about it, my parents were inviting some guests to dinner, so I guess I was free.

"Yeah, I'm free. You got any plans?" I asked, sipping on my drink. He nodded. "Yep, we should go on a picnic. Just the two of us," he said, smiling at his brilliant plan. I thought about it, then nodded.

"Sure, where?" I asked. He grabbed his keys out of his pocket, and looked back at me. "I'll text you everything later. I got to go. See you," he said. Then he kissed my cheek and winked at me and left out the door, leaving me standing there in excitement and anxiousness.
