I sit in the hotel room next to Alli as she as she as she asks me questions about my family and about my past. It's hard though. "Your mom what was she like?" Alli asks me as we lay on the large bed staring at the ceiling. "She was an singer actually, never famous, but had dreams of it. She wanted to be on broadway. There's videos of her that I've seen when she was younger of her. She was so happy." I say out loud picturing my mother in my head. Her short Bright red hair and the dimples that went deep into her cheeks. In photos her was always in there short natural curls and her cheeks always a rosy red. Her signature look was a pink lip stick I've never seen a picture she didn't have it on except when she was a baby. "Your Dad?" she asks me. "He was so brave. Aunt Kathy says that dad always stood up to the bullies when they where kids" I picture my father his short brown hair standing there in an army uniform bravely facing what comes ahead. As a kid my dad was always skinny and lengthy but as he grew older he gained some muscle. "Do you think it'd be different if they where alive?" she asks me. "I wouldn't be afraid" I say rolling over to look at her. I picture my mom, my dad and I standing there smiling. Something that will never happen and that has never happened but in my dreams it does every night.
