Chapter 18

“Now just the kids” The photographer says as we stand there posing for the Christmas picture on the beach.  I had on a short white dress, with a black cross necklace, black bracelets, and dark blue converse. Alli had on a flowy white shirt, white pants, gold cuffs, a fedora, and dark blue boat shoes.  Tom and Cody had on dark jeans and white V-necks. “Cody and Nevaeh you guys stand by each other then we will have Alli and Tom in front of you.” The photographer says.  I stand next to Cody several inches away trying not to touch him.  Alli rolls her eyes and pushes me into her brother.  She puts his arm over my shoulder and mine around his waist then goes to the spot in front of Cody standing in front of him as he puts a hand on her shoulder.  Tom comes and stands in front of me and I set my hand on his shoulder.  Alli and Tom where holding hands.  “That’s perfect” the photographer says snapping the picture smiling ear to ear.  “Would you mind if I put this on my website?” He asks Angie, Brad, and Aunt Kathy.  They just shrug their shoulders.  “Great. You guys are so photogenic!” He says happily.  I let out a chuckle and Cody looks down at me.  “Perfect” The photographer says to us.  “Let’s do lips to cheek pose” He says.  “Come here Tommy” I say smiling.  “No, Alli and Tom then Cody and Neva” He says to us.  “Oh” I sigh heavily as Alli presses her lips to her younger brother’s cheek.  I take a deep breath and I press my lips to Cody’s cheek and the photographer snaps the picture.  “That’s adorable” Angie smiles happily.  We all burst out into laughter at Angie’s comment. “I think that’s good for now, at sunset we can come back and take a few more shots” The photographer tells us.   “I’ll actually have to meet Neva back at home; you guys don’t mind driving her?” Aunt Kathy asks.  “Not at all, Brad and I have a meeting with Matt about Cody’s tour and the driver will be taking them home” Angie smiles at Aunt Kathy.  I remove my arm from around Cody and he does the same so I back away slowly.  “Let’s go down to the pier and just walk around, Cody you get Tom” Alli says cheerfully grabbing my wrist as we start to sprint down the beach.  My legs have gotten so much better in the past week, I can run for shorts amounts of time but I end up having to sit down for a few minutes for my legs to be better again.

            I take a seat on a bench as Alli takes pictures with fans and signs t-shirts and stuff.  “Excuse me” A little girl with blond pig tails in a pink summer dress with large blue eyes like Alli’s.  “Is something wrong?” I ask her with a confused look.  “No, I was wondering if anyone was sitting there so I could try to see Alli Simpson” She says to me.  “Come sit” I say patting the seat next to me and she crawls on sitting down.  “ALLIBEAR!” I scream loudly as the group around Alli clears and she comes running over.  “Neva, are you ok?” She asks me with wide eyes.  “Yup. Meet your fan” I say pointing to the adorable little girl.  “Oh hi sweaty” Alli smiles at her.  “H-Hi I’m McKinley” She says to Alli.  “I’m your most biggest fan!” She tells Alli with wide eyes. “Would you like a picture?” Alli asks her smiling.  McKinley nods her head quickly.  “Come here” Alli says opening her arms for a hug lifting McKinley up into her arms.  I snap a picture of them.  “That’s just the sweetest thing!” I cheer happily.  The little girl whispers into Alli’s ear.  Alli whispers back and the little girl burst out into a giggling fit.  “So McKinley who brought you here?” I ask her.  “My big brother Shane” She tells me smiling.  “He’s met Alli and Cody before but I haven’t” she tells me.  “McKinley!” I hear a voice yell.  “OVER HERE!” She yells. My eyes widen as a dark haired guy appears. “HOLY POO!” I scream loudly.  “SHANE HARPER!” I scream with wide eyes.  “This is my brother, Shane this is the girl who helped me meet Alli!” McKinley cheers happily.  I jump up front the bench running and hugging him.  “Neva” Alli giggles and my eyes widen and I step back. “Oh hey Alli” Shane smiles at Alli.  “Hi” She smiles.  “This is my friend Nevaeh” Alli smiles nodding to me. “You should of seen her reaction when she found out we were sending you a Christmas card” Alli says setting McKinley down on the ground holding her hand.  “Alli!” I hear the familiar voice of Tom yell running towards us.  “Oh hey Tom” Shane nods his head.  “Hi” Tom smiles cheekily. “Cody” Shane smiles at the approaching Cody giving him a little man hug.  Those things are so weird…. Cody walks over to me and puts a hand on the bottom of my mouth pushing it up so I’m not gaping at Shane.  I lean forward and I whisper into Cody’s ear.  “Do I look ok?” I whisper quietly.  I here Cody chuckle and replay in a normal voice with “you look fine” I give him a glaring before smiling at Shane.  “I cant believe this is actually happening” I mumble under my breath.  “My neither” McKinley says to me giggling walking over and hugging onto Cody’s waist and he lifts her up off the ground.  “well hey beautiful what’s your name?” Cody ask her and she giggles. “McKinley” She smiles happily at him.  “Woah there, who’s the pretty girl” Tom says looking at McKinley winking at her, “I see you’ve gotten tips from Cody” Alli chuckles.  “Hi babe” Tom nods to McKinley as Cody sets her down.  McKinley walks over to tom grabbing his hand and smiling up at him. “Shane it looks like our little siblings are going to be play dates” Alli giggles.  “Are you shaking?” Cody asks me with a raised eyebrow. “No!” I yell at him “I’m vibrating” I stick my tongue out at him still shaking nervously.  “Can she have a picture?” Alli asks Shane who laughs and walks over to me putting an arm around me shoulder and we smile as Alli snaps a picture.  “T-Thank you” I smile up at him.  “So your Cody’s rumored girl friend?” He asks me.  “Well yeah, but no” I say quickly.  “We aren’t-” Cody says to him.  “You guys aren’t together yet-“Shane starts.  “Alli is my best friend” I tell him.  “She lives next door” Cody tells him.  “We actually should be heading back down to the beach” Alli cuts in.  “We are doing our Christmas card pictures” she explains to Shane.
