Alright, Here We Go

Right, so first off, this isn't my story—at least it didn't start out that way. It was written by a mate of mine, Riley. You lot probably already know him if you've been reading this from the start. And if you don't, you should, 'cause Riley's the kind of bloke who doesn't just write a story—he builds a whole bloody world.

Now, here's the thing: Riley's hit a proper rough patch. He's seriously ill, and from what he's told me, he's not gonna be in any shape to carry on with this. Before things got bad, he asked me if I'd take over. Said he didn't want to leave this unfinished, and—well—how do you say no to that? You don't. You just step up and do what needs doing.

I've been going through everything he's written so far, and honestly? It's proper good. Like, you know when you're reading something, and you can see it all playing out in your head? It's like that. Riley's got this knack for details that just pulls you in— But here's the thing: I'm not just planning on carrying this on. I'm planning on taking what he's done and leveling it up. For him.

Funny thing is, he even half-mentioned me once in one of his author's notes. You might've seen it—he was talking about how him and his mates (me included) got into some massive fight, and it messed with his head for a bit. Made him struggle to write for a while. That's the kind of stuff Riley did—he didn't just write about life; he let bits of his life bleed into the story. That's why it feels so real.

But yeah, Riley's not here to finish it, so it's on me now. I'm not Riley, and I won't pretend I can match his style exactly, but I reckon I've got my own way of doing things. I'll keep the world he built, I'll push the story forward, and I'll do it in a way that stays true to him—just with a bit more of my own touch to it.
