Chapter 1

Kinagabihan ay nagsidatingan na ang mga anak nila ate. Si Micky ang panganay, sumunod si Anna at si Shaddy.

We just ignored the about glass. My sister said, maybe it was just from the neighbor and one of the children just brought it here.

After my sister cooked the dinner, we ate together and talked for a while. We decided not to talk about what happened earlier.

We do not want to scare the children.

"Mauuna na ako sa taas," I said goodbye to them when I ran out of food. "Aayusin ko pa kasi ang mga gamit ko."

"Sige tita, susunod nalang ako," Anna answered. Siya rin ang katabi ko mamaya sa pagtulog.

I went straight upstairs. Sana lang huwag na ulit mangyari ang naranasan ko kanina. When I opened the door again, a very dark room greeted me.

"Saan kaya 'yong switch ng ilaw?" I touched the wall next to the door and I was lucky that I immediately found the switch.

I was about to press it but I suddenly stiffened.

Before I could press the switch, another hand touched my finger and pressed it first.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!"

Ang lamig ng kamay!

My whole body went cold with fear.

What is going on? Why did I experience so much weirdness?

I heard footsteps approaching me so I looked where the noise came from.

"Anong nangyari sa 'yo Ann?"

"Tita ayos ka lang?"

"Bakit bigla kang sumigaw?"

"Namumutla ka."

They asked a series of questions as they approached me. But I was not able to answer them.

My whole body trembled with fear.

Whose hand is that?

Maybe I was just imagining it.

But who turned on the light?

"Ann, ayos ka lang ba?" Hinawakan ako ni ate sa magkabilang braso. "Sabihin mo, anong nangyari sa 'yo?"

I looked at my nephews and niece. They will surely be scared when I tell the truth.

"May ano kasi..." napalunok ako ng laway, "kasi may d-daga," nagkabuhul-buhol kong sagot.

"Daga?"

"Oo," pagsisinungaling ko. "May malaking daga dumaan sa paa ko at nagulat ako kaya napasigaw agad ako."

"Hay daga lang pala," natatawang komento ni Ate. "Para namang ngayon ka lang nakakita ng daga."

"Hahaha! Si Tita Ann takot sa daga," pang-aasar pa ni Shaddy.

"Sige magpahinga ka na, pagod lang yan." Lumabas sila ng kwarto at naiwan kami ni Anna.

Hinanap ko ang aking mga gamit.  Nalibot ko na ata lahat ng sulok ng kwarto subalit hindi ko talaga makita ang mga bag ko.

"Saan na kaya 'yon?"

"May hinahanap ka, Tita?" tanong ni Anna.

"Oo 'yong bag ko nawawala," sagot ko. "Nandito lang 'yon sa sahig kanina eh."

Sinilip ko lahat ng mga ilalim at binuksan ang mga lagayan. there's nothing really here. Sino naman kaya nangialam ng gamit ko?

After a while, I noticed an old closet at the far end of the room near the window.
