Luke impatiently tapped his fingers on the kitchen counter while holding his phone by his ear. The slow beeps coming from the devise made him even more impatient than before.

"Hello?" the voice from the other line said and Luke sighed out in relief.

"Hey Dan" Luke said a bit too enthusiastic, coughing a bit to hide it after.

"Luke, what's up man?" Dan, Luke's boss, said in a questioning voice.

"Hey, so I can't come to work today, Leon is sick" Luke said, talking with fake disappointment.

"Oh, that sucks. But yeah, I'll just call in someone else, it's okay"

"Great man, thank you" Luke said, grinning widely at himself.

"Tell the little one I said hi, and hope he gets better!"

"Thanks, so I'll see you on Monday probably"

The two soon hung up and Luke smiled widely as he placed the phone back down on the counter. He skipped over to Leon's room and opened the door, walking in and seeing the small boy sleeping in his miniature bed.

Luke smiled before quietly walking over and lying down beside his son, making his feet dangle free outside the bed due to the fact that he's way too tall to be in this bed.

"Wakey wakey" Luke whispered and booped Leon's small nose. Leon scrunched his face up before burying it in his father's chest.

"No" Leon mumbled and Luke chuckled. The boy was 4 years old but slept like a teenager. He was cranky if you woke him up too early and if you didn't wake him up he could sleep until noon.

He took after his father, that's for sure.

"Yes, we're meeting Ashton and Peach today" Luke said and poked his son's sides, making the small giggle a bit.

Yeah, Leon wasn't sick, Luke just lied to his boss so he could meet up with Ashton today. It was a nice and sunny Saturday today and Luke would much rather meet Ashton than serve people at the restaurant.

"We are?" Leon asked and sat up in the bed. Luke nodded and Leon smiled, throwing his small body over Luke's, making his father let out a small 'umpf'. Luke curled his arms around his son and hugged him tightly, making Leon squirm around in his grip.

"Get up so we can eat breakfast" Luke said before getting up from the bed and stretched his limbs. Leon watched his father and did the same, stretching his arms over his head and let out a small yawn.

Luke smiled at his son before picking him up and throwing him over his shoulder, making the small one squeak out a giggle.

"Come on sleepy head, you're helping me make pancakes for breakfast" Luke chuckled and put Leon down on the kitchen counter. "Ingredients" he said and clapped his hands before pointing at Leon.

Leon enthusiastically counted up all the ingredients his father had taught him to have in their amazing breakfast pancakes.

Luke worked as a cook at a nice small restaurant in the middle of the city and even though he loved to cook and plate all those extravagant meals, nothing could ever beat cooking unhealthy and sloppy food with his son.

Luke let Leon whisk the batter and had to save both his son and the bowl from falling off the counter a few times. A few dramatic moments later, both boys were sitting by the table, happily eating the pancakes that Luke gave Leon all credit for making.

"Why do I have to play with Peach today?" Leon asked as he poked on his pancake with his fork. Luke frowned at the question.

"What do you mean why? Don't you like Peach?" Luke asked and leaned over a bit to lean on his elbows like looking at his son with worried eyes.
