Spoilers for season 6, part 2.

When the karate war started, I was on the wrong side of the fight. As the daughter of Johnny Lawrence, I was the first student of his Cobra Kai with Miguel following shortly after. For a long time, I didn't give the LaRusso kids the time of day because of their family name. I had my preconceived notions based on our fathers' high school rivalry. A big part of me felt betrayed when Robby first trained with Daniel. I didn't want to accept the truth, but now I understand why he chose the path he did.

Everything that happened from then on out has been the wildest roller coaster ride you can think of. I'd sound insane describing it to outsiders. If you told me back then that I'd be competing in the biggest tournament in the world alongside those I used to call enemies, I'd call you a liar and a dumbass.

Since being in Barcelona, we've seen the return of Kreese and Silver. As per usual, there's been a lot of run-ins away from the mat. As much as I feel for Tory, given everything she's going through, I still can't believe that she'd go back to Cobra Kai. Kreese once tried to turn me against my dad like he did with Robby, but I refused to blindly follow a man who has done so much harm to us. I just hope Tory gets the help she needs whilst knowing that we're still willing to help her.

This never-ending drama is exhausting. Pair that with the strenuous nature of the Sekai Taikai, and it's gruelling. However, there has been a small calm within the chaos. On one of our first nights here, Sam and I went for a walk through the city. We took a lot of photos to commemorate the occasion. Sam eventually split off to go with the others, but I wanted to take some time to myself, so I kept walking.

A little over an hour later, I found myself strolling along the mostly empty beach. The peaceful sea brought a sense of calm that I've rarely ever known. In the distance, I spotted a tall figure performing some familiar moves. I kept a close eye on him as I slowly approached. The closer I got, the clearer his features became. I thought about walking past him but decided against it.

"Nice Kata. You cooling down from some late night training or something?" I must have startled him as he stopped what he was doing immediately.

"My sensei says I'm not supposed to talk to the competition." He was unable to make eye contact, staring at the sand.

"Oh, you've got one of those senseis, huh? Yeah, I know a few of those. Want to be the best, you've got to train like it, right? Don't sweat it, I'll head off. See ya." I turned to leave, but he quickly protested.

"Wait! Stay, please."

"You sure?" He just nodded, seeming somewhat uncomfortable. "Alright. Your name's Axel, isn't it? Like Guns 'n' Roses."

"Axel Kovačević of the Iron Dragon dojo." He awkwardly extended a hand.

"Y/N Lawrence, Miyagi-Do." I shook his hand. "You know, your dojo is pretty impressive."

"Thank you. You're pretty... Impressive! You're very good." He tripped over his words.

"Thanks. I try."

"You make it look effortless."

That night was better than I expected it to be. I offered Axel an evening to relax, and he accepted. We were both overworked and needed a night off. For the following few hours, he gave me a tour of the city, showing me his favourite spots that were still open. Naturally, there was a brief run-in with Cobra Kai, but our teamwork made quick work of the situation. Ultimately, we went our separate ways after my dad called me to go back to the hotel. However, before departing, he gave me a quick peck on the lips. I didn't want to leave, but I didn't want to throw myself into anything.

The next day, I decided to explore the facilities before the tournament continued. I stumbled upon Axel training with his sensei. That's when I saw something that made my blood boil. Wolf attacked him. It wasn't a lesson - it was pure violence. I couldn't bite my tongue. Both faced me in an instant. As Wolf hurled threats my way, I locked eyes with Axel. It was only for a second, but I could tell how petrified he was. His eyes pleaded for me to flee. Picking up on the signals, I ran as fast as I could until I reached safety. Once I had processed that had happened, I wrote him a brief note instructing him to meet me at the beach and slid it under his door in preparation for his return.
