Prince Xuminng's eyes narrowed as he gazed at Xu Maiyi, his mind racing with suspicion and doubt. He couldn't believe that she had saved his life, that she had taken an arrow meant for him. It was too convenient, too calculated.

He took a step closer to her, his eyes searching hers for any sign of deception. "How did you know?" he asked, his voice low and even. "How did you know that the arrow was meant for me?"

Xu Maiyi's eyes met his, her expression calm and serene. But Prince Xuminng was not fooled. He knew that she was hiding something, that there was more to her actions than met the eye.

"You're a clever woman, Xu Dao," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'll give you that. But don't think for a moment that I believe this was an accident. You planned this, didn't you? You planned to save my life in order to gain my favor."

Xu Maiyi's eyes flashed with anger, but she said nothing. She knew that the prince was too clever, too suspicious. She would have to tread carefully, to convince him that her actions were genuine.

But for now, she simply smiled, a sweet and innocent smile that hid the turmoil brewing inside her. "I'm just glad that I was able to save your life, Your Highness," she said, her voice demure. "I would never want anything to happen to you."
Xu Maiyi lay on the ground, her shoulder throbbing in agony as she watched Prince Xuminng walk away without even a backward glance. She felt a pang of disappointment and hurt, but she refused to let it consume her.

As she looked around, she saw that the servants were all standing by, watching her with a mixture of curiosity and disdain. None of them made a move to help her, and Xu Maiyi realized that she was truly alone.

Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she felt a wave of despair wash over her. But she took a deep breath and reminded herself of her determination to survive.

She gritted her teeth and slowly got to her feet, her injured shoulder screaming in protest. But she refused to give in to the pain, refused to let it break her.

With a fierce glint in her eye, Xu Maiyi took a step forward, and then another, and another. She would not be defeated, she would not be broken. She would survive, no matter what.

As she walked away from the scene, Xu Maiyi felt a sense of pride and determination wash over her. She would make it through this, she would make it through everything. She was a survivor, and she would not be defeated.
