The group flew on Appa toward a rocky island covered in sparse vegetation and towering cliffs. As they landed, Sokka immediately rolled off Appa, crouched low to the ground, and darted toward the nearest boulder, flattening himself against it. He peered out dramatically as though scanning for enemies, and the others exchanged confused glances as they dismounted Appa in a calm, leisurely manner. Katara crossed her arms as she watched her brother rolling, diving and "stealthy" walking to each boulder.

“What are you doing, Sokka?”

Sokka made a shushing gesture, still crouched and darting from one rock to another, rolling unnecessarily between them, and some tilting their head, other only shaking or rolling their eyes.

“We’re in enemy territory, Katara! I’m blending in!”

. “Blending in with what? The rocks?”

“Hey! We're in enemy territory, and those are enemy birds!"

Sokka hissed, while poking his head out, as he pointed dramatically at a flock of small, harmless birds circling above. Just as he finished speaking, one of the birds landed squarely on his head and chirped innocently. Katara snorted, but shook her head at her brother's idiotic behaviour. Zuko sighed, arms crossed, and shook his head as he spoke flatly.

“They’re Earth Kingdom birds Sokka. You know, because we’re technically still near Earth Kingdom territory.”

The bird fluffed its feathers and hopped off Sokka’s head, leaving him standing there, flustered, but he straightened up before brushing dust off his clothes. What he said made Zuko roll his eyes.

“Okay, fine. But better safe than sorry!”

“Sure, because the boulders are totally going to report us.”

After their brief detour, the group found a secluded cave to set up a temporary camp. A small fire flickered in the center, and they all sat in a loose circle, discussing their next move.

“We need to blend in. If we want to move around safely, we’ll need proper disguises.”

“That means going into town."

"... Ummm... that would be difficult for me."

Everyone looked at Sakura, and at first they raised a confused eyebrow as to ask what she mean, and she sighed. She looked at them while she pointed at her pink hair, and everyone clicked what she was trying to say.

“Pink hair isn’t exactly subtle in the Fire Nation.”

“She has a point."

“And I’m not going, either.”

Everyone's attention went to Zuko who leaning against the cave wall, and this made Sokka cross him arm as he asked why he didn't want to come. This caused Zuko to give Sokka a deadpan look, as if he trying to say "are you serious right now", but he let out a sigh as he spoke.

“You mean besides the giant scar on my face that everyone in the Fire Nation could easily recognise me as the banished prince? That might be a dead giveaway.”

“…Yeah, okay. Good point.”

“We'll stay behind and keep an eye on things, you four can handle it.”

“... Wait a second. If I’m going into town, I get final say on the disguises. I don’t want to end up in something ridiculous.”

“You mean like the time where Aang used Appa's fur to wear a fake beard back in Omashu just so we can pass the guards?”
