Chapter 4: "You look like an ugly duckling".

Aaliyah

A typical spoiled rich brat, that was me has Skyler used to say.But the story changed when I met her.I was a bully in my middle school and I came from a wealthy and influential family,blessed with beauty and brain 🧠 definitely the goddess in class not until Skyler got transferred to the school 

She was an introvert, her beauty is rare. I was feeling inferior to her beauty. I was unable to bully her like the rest, she gave off a dangerous aura that made her unapproachable and she never related with anyone. I was determined to bring her down.

I was engrossed in my evil scheme. We were already in exams week. I was lagging behind in my studies but I knew I would still be the best. When the examination results were pasted I didn't even bother to check my rank not until I heard others saying in the restroom besides me " Serve Aaliyah right, the new girl actually superseded her wow! beauty with brain"
I glared angrily at them and stormed out. 

I sat in a corner crying bitterly,to the outside world I'm an arrogant and spoiled brat but in reality I was timid, my family was a mess (this will be another story another time) I was able to be in favor because I always topped the class,that's why I dared to act recklessly. 

Suddenly I looked up, sensing someone's gaze on me and saw a hand stretching tissue paper to me.

It turned out to be Skyler "wipe your tears, you looked like an ugly duckling". She snickered.

I slapped her hand away,"who do we have here if we don't know miss topper?" I poked her chest " are you here to mock me ?"  I raised my hand to slapped her but she already predicted my movement and twisted my hand 'haaa' I groaned

"Listen here you spoiled rich brat  I am here to make peace let's be friends"

You and  who?in your dreams I retorted. I tried freeing myself from her grip ready to leave when I she uttered a shocking words that made me stop on my feet 

"Looks like you don't want first place. Actually it's fine. I hope you have enough allowance because I'm sure you are not getting any till we graduate".She replied sarcastically.

"Or what do you think?" She smirked.

  I was tempted,if my allowance was frozen I won't be able to survive, as I was debating what to do I heard her voice again. 

"I don't have all day to stay,"she said impatiently.

"Alright I agree, but what's your condition? I don't expect it to be free of charge".

'"Wow! You are actually not dumb. I like you. Well, I  need your family connection. There's a sports competition coming up and a scholarship will be awarded. I'm confident in my skills but I learned the winners are already decided before it begins. Just tell your dad to judge well. She replied.

"Is that all I asked skeptically?"

'Bingo, you are really smart, well that's all for now, I will let you know if there's any in future'. She added sarcastically.

I looked at her and I knew she was very cunning. Who the hell said this girl was naive? 🙄 

I weighed the pros and cons and I finally agreed. We both shook hands since then we both became besties for life, what started as a contract relationship later bloomed into a real relationship. Skyler later got the sports scholarship to study at Dynamic prime college,since we both have become inseparable I also decided to join the school.

Present time.
Skyler.

"I repented for all the bad deeds I did,but some still hold grudges as I was coming to school. I met one of those that I once bullied, she still holds grudges.she lamented.

"You remembered the girl that I offered 2 million naira". Aaliyah said, turning to me.

"she ambushed me earlier and demanded for more money 💰, I refused to gave her any money, she beats me together with some lout and seize my bag.I cried bitterly my assignments was in the bag and my Unlimited ATM card ".Aaliyah lamented

I already knew the week was also going to be full of drama! "do not worry I'm going to deal with them" I was a certificated martial artist(that's a secret) only Aaliyah knew. "the issue now is how to submit the assignments before the deadline" I told her,we were already on the black list of the Hod Science.

We decided to skip the first lesson of the day,and we were able to finish it before the next lesson.

Still not sure how to go about the submission when an idea struck my mind.
"we are going to sneak in" I said a little too excitedly.This is the first time I will be engaging in this kind of thing I only watched it in movies (well I'm a fan of Bollywood whilst Aaliyah is K-drama )"

We were both excited. We moved quickly like a shadow as predicted the door was locked. I used my hair pin to unlock it.

On getting inside, we met Hod sleeping in the adjacent room. Aaliyah stood at the entrance while I tiptoed to submit it.

A sigh of relief escaped my mouth as the mission went successfulty.Just maybe we shouldn't have rejoiced earlier because I turned to look at Aaliyah at the entrance ready to tiptoed out when a look of horror struck her face.

As I opened my mouth to speak, that's when I also noticed the door knob turning !.
