*note* trying something new and doing this from Kamala's perspective

I'd been feeling kinda off all day. My mind had been spinning, I would lose my balance for a quick second when standing...I just felt off.

And it was obvious that Bailey hadn't turned a blind eye to it. In fact she hovered more, watching my every movement closer than usual. So of course, when it came time for my meeting, she was hesitant. "I just don't think it's a good idea Kam. I mean every time you stand up you seem like you're about to hit the floor, and you'll be standing for quite some time during this meeting" she spoke, her voice edged with concern.

"I'm gonna be okay Bailey. Once this is done we can go home...I promise"

Nodding, she walked alongside me to the conference room where my team sat ready to discuss our next trip. Starting off the discussion I felt completely fine standing -- it wasn't until the halfway mark that my head started to spin, my stomach dropping. "Um-so when- when" I stutter, trying to force myself to be okay.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Bailey get up and move closer to where I was standing. My grip on the podium tightened, my voice completely faltering. What the hell was wrong with me? I could see my staff becoming more and more concerned, both Bailey and my assistant now standing at my side.

"What's going on Kam?" Bailey whispered, her arm wrapped tightly around my waist. Before I could respond, my assistant demanded that someone get me a chair to sit in and that everyone leave the room. I didn't make it to the chair before my world turned black.

I could hear various muffled voices around me, someone occasionally saying my name. As I opened my eyes there were blurred images of multiple people surrounding me. All looking slightly familiar in one way or another.

I groaned as I shifted on the soft surface I was lying on. The voices seemed to stop, Maya first coming into view, and then Bailey.

Shit. I forgot Maya was supposed to be visiting.

I tried to sit up from where I lay but multiple pairs of hands forced me back down. "Don't try to sit up baby. Just relax, everything's alright" came Bailey's voice, soft and reassuring. Understanding the confusion on my face, Maya brushed my hair back. "You passed out big sis...they said it might be dehydration or overworking...or both".

Of course this happens to me.

"Sorry," my voice came out raspy, and tired. "There is no need to apologize. The only thing that matters is that you are awake and talking" Bailey said, placing a soft kiss on the hand that she was holding. "Been feeling a little off all day...thought it was fine though"

"Well let's not have that happen again. It was scary walking in here to a frantic and teary-eyed sister-in-law, while my sister was lying on the floor unmoving" laughed Maya, though I could tell it was more to ease Bailey's worries.

There was a long pause before Maya stood from where she was seated. "Why don't we give them some space? Bailey will call us back if anything happens yeah?" and that was when I noticed the others in the room; my assistant, body guards, close staffers.

As they left I let my eyes drift back to Bailey. Her eyes and nose red and her braids pulled up into a messy bun. "I'm okay honey" I whispered, fighting hard to keep my eyes from drooping.

"I know that now" she paused "That was so scary Kammy. One second you were talking and the next you seemed to be drifting. Before we could even get you sat your entire body dropped" I could see the tears rushing back into her eyes as she looked away from my face.

I forced myself to sit up, despite her objections, and pulled her into my embrace. "I'm sorry I scared you, but I'm okay baby I promise. What can I do to help you?"

Her arms wrapped tightly around my body, pulling me so that all of my weight was directly on hers. "Let me take care of you...and next time listen to me"

"Okay...promise" our lips connected in a slow, sensual kiss.

★★★★★★★★★★★★

As the day continued Bailey took care of me, tending to every need. She made sure my assistant cleared my schedule, brought me food and water, and made sure everything was good.

"You're tired honey, why don't you get some sleep?" she whispered.

Nodding, I slid down deeper into our bed, releasing a content sigh when Bailey slid in behind me. "Rest. I'll be here when you wake up"

All would be well.
