Holding onto Hyun's hand so tight it almost turned blue, he gazed to the sky as I gazed to him. The faint blue light flowed onto his skin so perfectly, like he was the moon itself. Ocean waves crashed below us, and stars twinkled above. Stars which died slowly as the sky grew more blue and brighter, yet the two Gemini stars burned with voracity. The wind moved us like a candle as we stood near the balcony's edge.
Brushing my arms, I gazed to the ocean before saying, “I don’t find kissing you embarrassing.”
“Then, what did you find embarrassing?”
I sighed, “kissing you, but not kissing you, I mean kissing you in front of all those people. Who are your friends right?”
“My friends?” he laughed clearly amused, “not all of them are my friends, most of them are acquaintances at a birthday party.”
“Your dog’s birthday.”
“My friend’s dogs birthday, I know silly right?”
“No, I don’t think so.”
Their was a solemn look on his face, only for a second then it faded away and replaced with a smile, “well, the dog’s name is Puck and he is a bit of a Internet celebrity, that’s why there are a lot of people, and that’s why I find it silly.”
“Silly, cause you’re hosting a dog party for your friend?”
“I owed him one, just like how you owe me one,” he nudged me.
I gawked at him, “what, why would I owe you one?”
“It’s obvious, do you want me to spell it out?” he leaned close, “you were trying to hide yourself when you kissed me earlier, or make somebody jealous, or both.”
“Hyun,” I began to plead.
“No, it’s fine,” he interrupted, “you can keep your secrets, we only just met after all but um... Just know you can spill anything you want on me, except a drink.”
“Sure,” I smiled.
In the blue dawn, we stood beside each other in silence for a while. Filled with curiosity, I leant against the balcony and peered over. The shore below was still; calm; the horizon was flatter than paper, but an never ending sea stretching further than my sights reach. Light the breeze was, it blew through my jacket as I shivered. With each gust, I wrapped myself up tighter with no avail as the wind pricked the back of neck. Unexpectedly, a jacket latched over my shoulders: a black bomber jacket. Hyun’s hand patted the jacket down on my shoulder, and the went down to the zipper, hovering. Waiting for my permission, I nodded and he zipped the jacket up till it reached its end.
His hand went back on the balcony, and his eyes stayed on me, “we can go back inside if you want? I can give you a room to rest in, there are plenty to choose from,” he said.
“That sounds good, but...” my eyes darted to the empty long hallway leading back to the party, “maybe it’s safer here.”
“Safer? Hellia this is my home: those guys chasing you earlier will have no idea your here,” he assured me, “there’s no logical reason they could find you unless there was a tracker on you,” he joked.
“Of course not,” I laughed shortly, looking elsewhere.
“So,” he swept his hand across my cheek, “you can stay here while I go get you something to eat.”
“No,” I said holding his wrist, “stay. I’m not hungry.”
“Not thirsty?”
“No.”
