The morning light filtered softly through the curtains as Santa’s alarm buzzed loudly, cutting through the silence of the room. Groggily, Santa sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes as he reached over to his nightstand to turn off the alarm. He placed the phone back in its spot before glancing over at William, who was still fast asleep.
“William,” Santa called softly, walking toward his friend’s bed. When William didn’t stir, Santa shook him gently. “Wake up, we have orientation today,” he said.
William groaned, slowly rubbing his eyes before giving a drowsy nod. “Alright, I’m up,” he mumbled, his voice still heavy with sleep.
Satisfied, Santa grabbed his towel from the closet and made his way to the bathroom for a quick shower. The warm water refreshed him, washing away the last traces of sleep. Once done, he returned to the room with a towel wrapped around his waist.
William, now slightly more awake, got up and shuffled to the bathroom for his turn. Santa opened his closet, pulling out his neatly pressed uniform. He dressed quickly, smoothing out any wrinkles before heading to the small mirror by the desk to comb his hair. Every strand fell perfectly into place as he focused on looking his best for the big day. After tidying up his bed, he sat on the edge of it, waiting for William to finish.
The sound of the bathroom door opening caught Santa’s attention. William stepped out, looking more alert as he grabbed his uniform from the closet. He followed Santa’s routine, dressing quickly and fixing his hair before straightening out his bed.
The two of them grabbed their phones from the nightstand, sharing a glance before heading out the door. As they walked down the hallway, they noticed Fourth and another boy approaching them.
“Fourth, good morning!” Santa greeted cheerfully.
Fourth’s face lit up with a smile. “Morning, Ta! Morning, William! By the way, this is my roommate, Mick.”
Mick gave them a polite smile. “Hi, I'm Mick."
Santa smiled back. “Hi, Mick, I’m Santa.”
“And I’m William,” William added.
Mick nodded. “Nice to meet you two.”
The four of them began walking downstairs together. The halls were already bustling with the energy of students heading to the main hall.
“The main hall is so far away,” William commented with a sigh.
“Yeah, that’s true,” Fourth agreed, chuckling lightly.
Despite the distance, the walk felt short as the group joked and teased one another along the way. The lively conversation and laughter carried them through, making the journey enjoyable.

When they arrived at the main hall, it was already packed with other freshmen. The large space was buzzing with chatter, excitement, and the occasional nervous glance. The group made their way inside, finding a spot among the crowd as they took in the sight of the neatly arranged rows of students.
A senior stepped forward, his voice commanding but friendly. “Please take a seat on the floor!” AJ announced, gesturing to the open area.
The freshmen complied, sitting in small groups. Some whispered among themselves, while others glanced around, taking in the unfamiliar faces.
After a few moments, another senior, Alan, stepped forward with an enthusiastic grin. “Good morning, freshmen!”
“Good morning!” the crowd responded in unison, their voices echoing through the hall.
