"What if we're better as a team?" Lando asked, his gaze softening.
"We're better as rivals," Rose replied, her heart pulling her in two directions.

The golden light of the late afternoon bathed the garden of the Norris family home in a warm glow. The scent of freshly cut grass and blooming flowers filled the air, accompanied by the joyful sounds of laughter and playful bickering. Rose and Lando stood together, side by side, their arms wrapped around each other as they watched their two children dart around the garden.
"Alright, everyone, time for the family picture!" Flo called out, holding up her camera.
Lando crouched down, extending his hands to corral his energetic children. Scattered across the back of his hands were faint, silvery scars—a reminder of the crash that nearly took him from Rose and their family. The marks told a story of resilience, one they all held close to their hearts.
Lily, now seven years old, had her hands on her hips, her green eyes sparking with determination that mirrored her mother's. Beside her stood her younger brother, James, five years old, with wild curls and a grin as cheeky as his father's.
"Lily, please, let's just take one nice photo," Lando said, his voice laced with laughter as he tried to coax a smile out of her. "No arguing, okay?"

Lily crossed her arms, huffing dramatically. "But Daddy, James keeps saying it's okay to bump into me on the kart track! That's not how you're supposed to race!"
From his perch on Lando's shoulders, James giggled mischievously, tugging at his father's hair. "I just wanna go faster, like you, Daddy! Who cares about bumping?" His eyes sparkled with excitement as he added, "I'm gonna be a 9-time World Champion... wait, no!"
He paused, counting on his fingers with deep concentration. "Seven, eight, nine... ten! Ten-time World Champion!" James exclaimed, his grin stretching from ear to ear.
"You can't just bump people off the track, James!" Lily exclaimed, her tiny fists clenched in mock outrage. "That's not racing, that's cheating!"
James stuck out his tongue, unbothered. "Whatever! I'm gonna be a 10-time World Champion anyway!"
"Oh yeah?" Lily shot back, hands on her hips as a competitive spark lit her eyes. "Then I'll go for eleven. Beat that!"
James shot her a playful smirk, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Don't think you're like Mummy, Lily! She's way cooler than you!"
Lily gasped, her hands flying to her hips. "Cooler? Fine, maybe. But don't forget—I'm two years older, so obviously, I'm faster than you!"
James grinned wider, not missing a beat. "Two years older, two years slower!" he teased, sticking his tongue out at her.
Lando and Rose burst into laughter, exchanging a knowing glance. "Oh, that's a familiar line," Rose said, nudging Lando playfully. "I used to tell you that all the time when we were kids, remember?"
