Having to start over as someone new isn't an easy task. Especially when you have to leave the one person you love behind.

Two neighbouring Viking families thrived in harmony in a small village surrounded by witches and werewolves. Ray and Mikael, the head of each family, grew up bestfriends and raised their families as one. Mikael and his wife, Esther raised 6 beautiful children; Finn, Elijah, Klaus, Kol, Rebekah and Henrik. Mikael turned told toward his third born when he had discovered that his wife had been unfaithful and had an affair. Ray on the other hand, he and his wife were less fortunate when it came to children. After many miscarriages, they were fortunate enough to have their daughter, Casandra. However, their happiness ended there when Casandra's mother tragically died while in child birth.

Growing up amongst the Mikaelsons gave Casandra a sense of belonging. Although she was an only child the Mikaelsons became family to her. Yet Elijah stood apart, even among his siblings. When he looked at her, it was with a warmth that transcended familial affection. His eyes held a depth that made her heart race—an unspoken connection that lingered between them. In the quiet moments, when they shared glances across a crowded room or exchanged words laden with unacknowledged emotion, she felt something more. Something almost sacred.

The two were enjoying each others company in the quiet woods on a swing that was built for the two families when they were children. They swung gently with the breeze.

"Elijah, do you ever think about the future?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, laden with hope.

He stopped swinging as well, turning to meet her gaze. "Every day," he confessed earnestly. "But the future is unpredictable, and I find comfort in the present."

"But envisioning it can be beautiful too," she encouraged. "What if we could carve out our own path, one that includes all of us? Nobody left behind" she smiled

His eyes sparkled with understanding,"I want that," he replied, a hint of determination in his voice. "A future where we can find peace, together"

"Sounds good" she said resting her head on his shoulder "Elijah my father musn't know that we meet up like this. He is very protective and I do not want any harm to come to you"

"You have my word Casandra. Nobody shall know"

The two stayed there until it started to get dark. Esther had called out for her children to return for dinner and thats when the two parted.

"Until next time?" she questioned

"Until next time Cas"

The two families lived in harmony until a disaster struck. The Mikaelson family lost their youngest son to a werewolf bite on a full moon. Esther was sent into distress and she was eager to find a solution to protect the other 5 of her children.

Eager to find a way, she called upon her witch ansestors and the witches in her village, until she found a solution. Immortality. Casandra being the only thing that Ray has left of her mother begged and vouched for Esther to take her under her wing and protect her without being aware of what his beloved daughter would turn into.

"No! I don't want this father! I'm not going to put my faith into a spell that may or may not work! What happens if it does not work? What life will I have left? Or if I even have one at all? What will you have left then?"

"Casandra that is a risk I am willing to take. Truthfully, I don't know what's going to happen either but Mikael and I have been friends since we were boys and if he can put faith in his wifes witchcraft to protect their children, I can do the same for you because I was not able to do so for your Mother"

Without any choice, Casandra was forced to give her life to witchcraft. Rebekah was the first to wake after the spell and then Klaus and the rest quickly followed.

"You monsters! What have you done to my daughter?!" Ray shouted finding the Mikaelsons and his daughter in a room filled with their own blood.

She stayed slient as her Father let out his rage, looking at her in disgust. She looked at her once white dress that was now dyed crimson. Holding herself in her arms she didn't know what to say or do.

"Father..." She spoke in an upset tone. "I told you that I did not want this and now you can not bare to look at me!"

"They turned you into an abomination. Look at you! You are covered in your own blood but you are standing here as if you do not have a stratch on you. You are not my daughter you are a crime toward nature"

She looked at the Mikaelsons unsure of what to do but what she did know, is that she was hungry. She didn't know what to do with the built up emotion that her father had caused. Taking a look at him as he walked away, she vampire sped up to him and started to feed until he fell onto the floor.

"What have I done" she said to herself over and over. Falling to her knees, she sat by her fathers body trying to shake him awake
