Chapter 48: But They Still Have Hope SO...

--later that night---

Ashley's POV:

Everyone went home around an hour ago & Kristin & I have been watching batman. Kristin was still clutching to the book, when my phone went off.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hello, is this Mr. Ashley Purdy?" The man asked.

"Yes, this is he." I answered.

"This is Dr.Jerson from Aurora Health Care Center calling upon the status of your wife's health."

"Please go on." I said.

"You and your loved ones might want to consider saying your final goodbyes. This may be her last few hours." He said. I nearly dropped my iPhone.

"Thank you." I choked out, then hung up.

I notified the guys & we rushed to the hospital. We all met up by the door and they all gave Kristin and I hugs.

"I think since Ash is Mikki's husband, he should have the most time with Mikki, & Kristin can come in with us all." Jinxx said. We all agreed & Jake, Ella, & Kristin went in first.

After everyone finished, it was my turn to say good bye to my wife. I walked in like I have for the past week, and sat down in the chair beside her, my love, my wife.

"Mikki, if you can hear me, I love you & miss you. I cry nightly knowing your not occupying the other side of the bed. We miss you so much that it hurts. I don't know what I'd do without you. Your my saviour, my fallen Angel, my rock, my shield, your everything I've ever needed and more. I don't want to lose you. Lyra and Blade are beautiful, beautiful pieces of you. Please wake up honey, show the world that LEGENDS NEVER DIE. I can't live without you. Please, please, please wake up. I love you." I said crying on her shoulder.

"Daddy! A shooting stawr!" Kristin said kneeling by the window. I joined her, and we closed our eyes.

"I wish mommy to wake up." Kristin said

"I wish for my wife to wake up." I said after her. I kissed my wife's head, then went and took my place on the futon. Kristin laid on my stomach, wrapping her arms around my neck.

Maybe if we believe enough, a miracle will happen.

"Goodnight mommy. Wake up soon." Kristin said.

"Goodnight daddy, I love you forevewr and always." She told me.

"Goodnight Kristin, I love you too forever and always." I told her, kissing her cheek. Then we both drifted into a dazeful sleep.
