Writer's Note: I saw a prompt on Reddit, talking about this cute idea, and I just had to write it.

Vi opened the door as silently as she could manage under the circumstances. The sun was already up, but the hour was still early. The end of her night shift. All in all, not so bad. It was a relatively calm night that went out with an objectively big bang. The bang being a bar fight that she had to put an end to, in a fancy topsider pub. Lately, she'd started to learn that topside and bottom did in fact have a few things in common. And one of them was the kind of idiots, who liked to drink until they could barely form coherent sentences, and then inevitably pick fights with other idiots, who couldn't even form any kind of sentence anymore. Suffice to say, she did her duty as an enforcer, and this time she even left the place in fairly good condition. And no bar fight would be a proper bar fight, without taking one or two drinks too, and so she did. But now it was time to turn in.

She kicked off her boots, and more or less tiptoed to the entrance of their bedroom to have a peek inside. Caitlyn was still asleep, good. Vi thought she wouldn't be for much longer. Still, she didn't want to wake up her girlfriend too early. Instead, she tiptoed through the hall, and went into the kitchen, softly closing the door behind herself. It was time to do one last thing, before she would hit the sack, and prepare breakfast for her. Caitlyn had a bad habit of skipping the first meal of the day, and going straight to work, fueled only by a cup of coffee and sheer determination. Vi intended to change that, at least for this morning.

She hummed to herself as she was putting ingredients on a toast, and boiled two eggs. She realized she was probably a bit tipsy when she caught herself doing that. Vi lowered her voice after, and as far as she could tell, she managed to finish the whole process without making too much noise.

She peeked into the bedroom again, to see that Caitlyn was still asleep. Job well done, she thought, but immediately after, the situation gave her pause. She just stood at the door with the tray in her hands, staring at the wall and contemplating. What was she supposed to do now? Does she wake her up, or does she wait until she wakes up? Vi wasn't sure what time it was, maybe it was still too early. But on the other hand, her food would go cold, if she didn't wake her up now... Maybe she should have made some noise in the kitchen, and woke her up that way, without actually having to do the deed herself, huh?

Well, she might as well stick with it now, if she got this far, she thought. Making up her mind, she entered the bedroom and gently set down the tray of breakfast in Caitlyn's lap. "Good morning," she practically chirped, as she brushed some hair away from Caitlyn's forehead.

"Vi... Morning!" Caitlyn managed to sit up a little in their bed, and she realized there was an object in her lap. "What's this?" she asked, but she already knew the answer as soon as the words left her mouth. Her expression softened immediately. "Did you just make me breakfast?"

Vi shrugged, but she couldn't hide her proud grin, as she walked over to her own side of the bed. "It's not healthy to skip it." She raised a finger to make a point before Caitlyn could say anything; "And that one single of coffee, that you drink every morning; that's not breakfast."

She sat down on the edge of the bed to get rid of her socks, then she stretched out on top of their covers. "It's the most important meal of the day," she added, to completely wrap up her point.

"Understood, mother," Caitlyn joked, looking down at Vi. But that only earned her an eye roll.

Caitlyn sat up even more. She took a look at her nightstand and what she saw there, made her shake her head and giggle. "What?" Vi asked, with one eye closed already.

"Violet, do you have any idea what time exactly it is?"

Vi shrugged in the bed, but both her eyes were open now. "I don't know... Like six, six-thirty?" She tried to play it cool, but she already knew she had screwed up. "Look, the sun was already up when I arrived..."

"It'ss five in the morning," Caitlyn laughed, and she even showed her the watch for confirmation.

"It's five AM?" she grimaced painfully. "I thought... I thought it was later... Okay, you don't have to eat those right now. Just go back to sleep with me."

"Are you kidding?" Apparently Caitlyn was very amused by the entire situation. "And let all this go to waste?" She leaned over Vi's head and  gave her a quick kiss. "This was very thoughtful of you. I'm going to make it an early morning in the precinct and then take an early leave in the afternoon," she announced her plan.

Vi couldn't help but chuckle at that. "I would like to see Caitlyn Kiramman leave work early just once."

"Well... You just watch," she raised her eyebrows, as if to say; challenge accepted. But deep down she was seriously hoping she would manage to be able to stick to that plan too. Then she finally turned her attention to Vi's tray of breakfast. "So, what do we have here?"

Caitlyn picked up her toast and Vi put her arms under her own head. If her girlfriend was fine with an early morning, who was she to object? She finally closed both of her eyes and a satisfied sigh left her lips.

"You are not considering going to asleep without taking a shower again, are you?"

Vi opened one eye again. Her look met Caitlyn's. "Well, I wasn't not considering that."

"Vi..."

"Cait? Come on, it's five in the morning, and I've just finished a night shift."

"You are impossible," Caitlyn shook her head and took another bite of her toast to help fight back a flickering smile. "I suppose you are going to at least change clothes though. Right?"

Vi sighed again, but this time she managed to make herself get out of bed. "The things I do for love..." she said, as she started dropping off clothes.

"Well, colour me impressed," Caitlyn replied, even though she knew, that later, she was going to have to pick all that up after Vi. Her girlfriend could be surprisingly messy. She didn't mind though, especially after this surprise breakfast she was given.

"How has work been?"

"Eh, not much happened." Vi climbed back into their bed, but this time she slipped under the covers. "At the end, I had to stop a bar fight though. That was kind of interesting."

"Hm, and how did that go?"

"What do you think?" Vi yawned and turned to her stomach, while simultaneously moving closer to Caitlyn. "I deescalated the situation in a very reasonable manner, of course."

"Meaning, you knocked everyone out, before the rest would make a run for it." This was behavior Caitlyn would only accept from one enforcer in Piltover.

She held her food in one hand and placed the other on Vi's upper back. She started massaging her skin, and the girl affirmed that with a content sigh. "So, what's your day gonna look like?" Vi mumbled. Caitlyn started going on about paperwork and managing patrols, but soon enough, she realized that Vi was rhythmically snoozing beside her. That made her smile and shake her head again. She finished the breakfast in silence, and now it was her turn to tiptoe around their house.
