It was next morning.
The sun shone brightly in the sky ,while soft clouds drifted lazily, wrapping the horizon in a gentle embrace.
The warmth of the morning sun mixed with the cool breeze ,creating the perfect balance for a peaceful start to the day.
As the first light of dawn crept Nidhi's room,it painted everything in an soft golden hue.
The once dim and tranquil space gradually warmed, the golden rays caressing the walls, casting gentle shadows and illuminating the few scattered books and clothes that adorned Nidhi's room.
The alarm blared, shattering the peace, but Nidhi, barely awake, instinctively reached out and snoozed it,her eyes still shut resisting the pull of morning.
Just as she was drifting back to sleep ,Avni barged into her room,as if an earthquake was about to arrive the next second.
Nidhi, still half-sleep ,grumbled to her ''Avni, bas 5 seconds plz''she yawned, her words trailing off as she considered the comfort of her bed.
''Jaldi tayar ho jaa, varna mai chali jaaungi''
Avni warned, her tone leaving no room for further argument ,before leaving the room.
Nidhi sighed, the lingering warmth of sleep now replaced with the urgency of the morning.
She dragged herself out of bed, feeling the coolness of the floor beneath her feet as she reluctantly made her way to the bathroom.
Quickly freshening up,she slipped her school uniform ,the crisp fabric a stark contrast to the softness of her bed ,and finally ready to face the day ahead.
Meanwhile across town,Sameer was still deep in slumber, curled up under a thick quilt.
In his dreams,he was far from the obligations of school, lost in a world where Avni,as his Soon-to-be-wife existed'.
*Corrections-only in his dreams*
His mom knowing well how difficult it was to wake him up,gently shook his shoulder, calling out his name,''Uth jaa Sam"
Sameer groggily and unwilling to leave the comfort of his dreams ,mumbled,''Sone do na mummy, vese bhi today is Sunday''pulling the quilt tighter around himself.
''Aaj monday hai, mere gajni 2.0, and if you don't wake up now i'm gonna call your papa''His mom warned,Knowing the threat would work like magic.
The moment he heard the word*Papa*,he bolted upright, the lingering drowsiness evaporating in an instant .He darted to the washroom, the urgency of the morning finally catching up to him.His mother, amused by her son's predictable response.
Outside Sameer's house,Arman and Dhruv waited, the morning air filled with the sounds of a city waking up .Birds chirped in the lining the street, and a car passed by,and leaving a trail of exhaust in the cool morning air.
Dhruv ,already irritated from the rushed morning after sunday ,crossed his arms and muttered.''Agar ye abhi nai aaya mai iska mu todh dunga sachme''
Just then the entrance door of Sameer's house flew open and Sameer came rushing to the car,his uniform slightly askew. He was gulping down a sandwich, his shirt half open, his hair undone, framing his face in a messy but endearing way.
Sameer.
Yaar, aaj to Dhruv maar dale ga .Ohh,why can't i wake up early ,
'Maybe cause you play games till 1:00 am.'My inner self answered.
