Peter quickly walked out of the room to discover Jameson having returned as advertised, alongside Randy Robertson, Robbie's only child. As soon as their eyes met, Randy's immediately widened so large that they appeared as though they might pop out of his head.
"Woah," he said, shock evident in his tone. "I-I saw on the news, but I still wasn't sure I believed it, but... you really are Spider-Man?"
"I'm afraid so," Peter replied with a nod. "Did Jonah tell you what this is all about?"
"Something about spreading some kind of antidote that will hopefully shut down this madhouse out here," Randy answered.
"Are you sure you're up for this?" Peter questioned.
"I mean, I'd rather be doing something than just waiting around hoping it all gets better," Randy replied. "Dad always used to tell me that not doing good is not an option, so this is my way to honor him."
"Alright then," Peter replied, letting out a thin sigh. He then walked over towards the bag and picked it up, pulling it out and handing a small, watch-sized circular device to Randy first.
"What is this?" the young man questioned as he took it. "Some kind of friendship bracelet or something?"
"These may or may not be some prototype technology that I might or might not have confiscated from Fireheart Enterprises," Peter explained, handing another one to the rest of the group. "As long as you're wearing them, they should keep you from being seen by any security cameras around the city, just in case the Goblin has someone watching for anyone trying something. They should turn on as soon as you put them onto your wrist."
Sure enough, as everyone in the group performed the action, several little green lights popped up, indicating that the devices were functional.
"Also, you should see a little button on the back side," Peter said. "According to what I read, they should also fire a small electrical discharge, so, you know, if you still get caught, at least you all will have a little something to defend yourselves with."
"Alright," Jonah said. "What's the plan?"
"Basically, you'll all split into pairs and head to three locations each," Peter explained. "All you have to do is press the button in the center once you're holding it up to a surface, and it will latch on and automatically prime itself. You'll call in through some earpieces I'll give you to let me know that you're set, and once all of them are in place, they'll be detonated and flood the city with a gas that won't affect the average person, but will diminish the Goblin serum in all of his cronies, and, if we're lucky, his powers too. Each of your locations are already programmed on there; you just have to tap the button at the bottom to see where you need to go."
"I'm going too," Matt said, forcing himself off the wall he'd been resting against to a stand.
"No, you're too hurt," Peter insisted.
"We all need to be out there," Matt insisted. "If you can go out there and draw all their fire, then I can go out on a bad leg. Plus, my abilities will allow me to provide advance notice that will keep me and whoever I'm with out of trouble."
Peter sighed; the man was just about as stubborn as he was, maybe worse. Well...
"Okay," he conceded; he then gave out the necessary com link devices to the rest of the group, making sure they were all set before addressing them again.
"Look, guys, I just want to say thank you all for being here right now. I hate that you all are putting your lives on the line, but I also can't say how grateful I am to be in this with together. Now, wait here until I give the word that I've drawn the attention of the Goblin and his forces. Good luck."
