*back story
When Celestine and Taros were just infants, Arthaz and Azura took turns overseeing them. On one particular night, Azura was alone with the twins. She cradled them in her arms, singing softly, her voice a lullaby echoing in the quiet expanse of the palace. After some time, she gently placed them into their celestial cribs, smiling as she caressed their tiny faces.
When her fingers brushed Celestine's face, a warmth filled her—a sensation of hope, radiance, and boundless potential. But when she touched Taros, a sudden vision overtook her.
Azura froze as her mind was overwhelmed by terrifying images. She saw Taros, completely consumed by the eternal flame, standing in the heart of chaos. He was no longer just a man—he was destruction itself.
In her vision, the universe burned. Planets were engulfed in flames, breaking apart until nothing remained. Stars collapsed under the heat, their light fading into darkness. Entire galaxies crumbled, turning into ash that scattered across the void.
Everything Azura and Arthaz had created—their palace, the balance of light and shadow, the harmony of the cosmos—was destroyed. The palace melted, its walls crumbling. The thrones shattered, and even the essence of their power seemed helpless against the unstoppable blaze.
Azura felt the heat as if she were there. It was unbearable, choking her. Her body trembled under the weight of the vision, and the flames seemed to burn her from within. She screamed, clutching her hand as a sharp pain shot through her. When she pulled back, her palm was scorched, the skin blackened as though the fire had touched her in real life.
She staggered back, gasping for air, her burned hand shaking. Her eyes were wide with fear.
"No..." she whispered, her voice trembling. "This can't be real."
The vision left her shaken. It wasn't just a warning—it was a glimpse of what could happen. The eternal flame was no ordinary power. It had chosen Taros, but it held the power to destroy everything. If the vision came true, nothing would survive—not light, not dark, not even the void itself.
Azura clenched her fist, her voice growing firm. "I won't let this happen."
Her fear turned to determination. The future she had seen could not come to pass. Whatever it took, she had to stop it.
Azura chose to keep the vision a secret. She feared what Arthaz might do if he learned of Taros' destructive potential. What if he deemed their son too dangerous to live? No, she resolved, she would not let that happen. She would bear the burden of this secret alone.
When the twins' umbilical cords faded, signifying their independence, Azura saw her chance to act. She had always known the danger lurking within Taros—the potential for his connection to the eternal flame to spiral into catastrophe. Arthaz, ever trusting and optimistic, saw their son as a symbol of hope. Azura, however, carried the weight of her visions and the fear they instilled.
