The flames surged around Taros again, but this time they were laced with shadows. Azura's bow shook and slipped in her grip as Taros extended his hand. The dark energy bound to it that originally belongs to him responded to his call, unraveling in threads of black and crimson. Azura gasped as the bow went near to Taros as if it is his master, its essence returning to her son.Taros absorbed the power from the Bow of Eternity, his form transforming as fire and shadow intertwined. His muscles rippled with newfound strength, his skin glowed with ember-like cracks, and his once-soft features hardened into a visage of pure wrath. The air around him became suffocating, charged with heat and malice.
"You stole from me!" Taros bellowed, his voice a thunderous roar. "And now, you will all pay for your betrayal!"
The flames erupted, filling the chamber with blinding light and scorching heat as Taros rose above them, a god reborn in fury.
Taros was no longer the timid boy his family once knew. Consumed by flames and shrouded in darkness, he now loomed before them as a colossal fire demon, his form fueled by anger and resentment."Mother?" His voice cracked, distorted by the flames that engulfed him. "How could you? I trusted you! All these years, I confided in you, thinking you were on my side. You reassured me, over and over, that my powers would awaken. But every time I cried to you, every time I showed my vulnerability, you lied to me. How could you do this?"
Azura's tears flowed freely as she tried to explain. "There are no words that can truly make amends, my son. I loved you so much. I had no choice. It was the only way to protect you."
"Protect me?!" Taros roared, his voice quivering with pain. "You are cruel! How could you suppress my powers? Why?!"
"When you were just a newborn, I had a vision," Azura confessed, her voice trembling. "I saw you consumed by flames, just like you are now. You destroyed everything—the entire universe. I was terrified. I thought... I thought your father would eliminate you if he knew. So I kept it a secret. I suppressed your powers to protect you... and everyone else. I thought I could stop it, thinking I was protecting you. I wanted to save you... but I only hurt you."
Taros's eyes widened as her words sank in. His fury returned, roaring back to life like a wildfire. "What kind of mother would stole his only son's birthright?"
Arthaz, the God of Light, stepped forward, his golden spear glowing faintly. "Azura, how could you? This was a violation of Verseya's creation! Why would you hide this from me? I am your husband, the firstborn, your other half. Did you truly believe I would destroy our own son? Why did you think me so cruel?" His voice, filled with frustration, reverberated through the ruined chamber.
Azura turned to her husband, her face a mask of anguish. "My love, I have no excuse. I was afraid. Something within me changed the moment I saw the twins. I wasn't myself. I let my fear control me. I am... I am so sorry."
But Taros was no longer listening. The betrayal by the one person he trusted most cut too deeply. Taros charged a massive fireball in his hand and hurled it toward Azura. She barely managed to evade the attack.
"Son! Please stop!" Azura begged, but her words could not reach him.
The palace, once a grand sanctuary, crumbled under Taros' relentless assault. Three of the elemental chambers remained intact, protected by the powers within, but the throne room was shattered—a reflection of the broken bonds between the celestial family.
Azura, kneeling amid the destruction, began to understand the true meaning of her vision and said "It wasn't the universe he was destined to destroy. It was us. This family. Me. Nothing could have stopped this—it was always meant to happen."
Overwhelmed by shame and despair, Azura lowered her head, surrendering to her fate. "Do what you must, my son," she whispered, her voice heavy with resignation.
As Taros launched another wave of eternal flames, Arthaz summoned a shield of light, protecting Azura. "My love, no! Don't give in!" he shouted.
"Taros, stop this!" Celestine cried, her voice breaking. "Mother, please! We can fix this—we can still be together!"
Azura turned to her family, her eyes filled with sorrow. "My dear Arthaz, my precious Celestine, this is my penance. This is what must happen. Let me go."
In her final moments, Azura unleashed her full power of darkness, shattering Arthaz's shield. Taros' eternal flames engulfed her completely. Laughing and crying simultaneously, Taros embodied the chaos within him. He felt a twisted satisfaction mingled with unbearable sorrow as he watched his mother vanish.
But even as her sentient form dissolved, Azura's essence lingered. A mist of shadow emerged from the flames, pushing them back toward Taros. Her voice, faint and tender, echoed through the chamber:
"It's okay now, my child."
The flames receded as Taros collapsed, unconscious. Azura's essence enveloped him, carrying his body toward the West Chamber—the chamber of eternal flames, long torn from the palace and cast into the cosmos. The doors, sealed for decades, opened as if awaiting their arrival. Azura and Taros disappeared into the chamber, vanishing into an unknown dimension beyond the universe.
The doors shut behind them, glowing with an impenetrable dark magic. They were sealed off from existence, never to be seen again.
As the doors closed, Arthaz's eyes widened in sudden realization. His sentient form began to flicker and disintegrate.
"Father?" Celestine gasped, rushing toward him. "What's happening?!"
