S1 E2 - Mulder is a man full of risk

Mulder was in a toilet, when he suddenly saw a strange, unknown man standing behind him. He turned around and faced him.
- Leave this case, Agent Mulder - said the man- The military won't tolerate FBI investigation in their field
- Who are you? - asked Mulder
- I can be a help to you - the man answered
- How do you now what case am I working at? - asked Mulder again
- You are exposing yourself and Agent Scully to unnessesery risk - man said - So I suggest you drop the case
- I can't do that - Mulder answered
- You will bring problems not only to yourself and your partner but also to Miss L/N who you like to keep an eye on - the man said, turning toward the door - Think about it
Mulder left the bathroom right after him but there was no sign after him or where he had gone.

Later that day Scully called Mulder to tell him what she found out about the case but Mulder could tell something was off with the call. They were being bugged. Something was definitely wrong with this case. Which made Mulder sure he is not gonna leave it. But it also left him worring about Y/N. He was supossed to leave to Idaho next day but he was afraid. If that strange man found out about her then military could too. He took a piece of paper and decided to write her a letter to drop in front of her doors before he will be leaving in the morning.

When Y/N woke up she head downstares and opened the door. She saw her usual daily newspaper on the mat but next go it there was a letter. She took it inside and head to the kitchen. She prepared her usual cereals with milk for breakfast and opened the envelope with a knife. She didn't need to read it. By the handwriting she could already tell it was from Mulder, which really suprised here. He could just meet her in person after he come back. Or if it was urgent he could have called. Unless something was wrong.

I won't be able to contact you anytime soon, neither in person or by phone. Something is off about the case I'm curently working at. My phone is being bugged. Strange car is following my everywhere. I don't want to put you in danger, so if anything strange happens to you pretend that we don't know eachother. I will contact you as soon as possible. Take care of yourself and be extra careful.

Y/N took a deep breath and put the letter in her fireplace, so there won't be any evidence yet. Ir wasn't first time Mulder left her a letter like that. Mulder was a man full of risk. Being his friend meant being in danger pretty often. Y/N kind of got used to it, but she couldn't help but worry every single time Mulder was doing something dangerous. She knew this job was his biggest passion but there were moments when she thought that Mulder need to prioritize his life a little more.
