𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐟 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧

3𝑟𝑑 𝑃𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑃𝑂𝑉

A few weeks had passed and JJ and John B had gotten closer. They were together every day and JJ even came to have dinner at John B's multiple times.

As the two friends laid outside in the hammock, Big John came outside.

"Hey boys, so you two were talking about surfing right?"

The two exchanged glances and nodded.

"Well, since JJ got a board and i made one yesterday, i'm going to give you your first surf lesson today."

As they jumped out of the hammock, JJ asked: "Like right now?! Right freaking now??"

Big John chuckled and nodded. "Yes. Right now. Go change into your swim suit and put on some sunscreen. I'll meet you in the Twinkie. We'll drive by JJ's first to pick up his board."

The boys jumped up and down in excitement and ran inside to get changed.

My first surfing lesson. Finally.

"You ready bud?" Big John asked me.

I looked up at him and answered: "As ready as i'll ever be."

We headed out to the water and Big John explained to us how we had to paddle, pop up and stay balanced on the board.

I almost never fell, but John B did. I felt bad for him and kept giving him pointers but nothing seemed to work.

"Hey John B, imagine you are on the hammock in your backyard. You know when we would stand on the hammock and pretend to surf?" He nodded. "Okay. Imagine that your board is the hammock. Try it." I continued.

John B paddled and popped up and he finally caught his first wave and rode it without falling! We cheered and whooped and celebrated with a massive splash fight.

I did it. I finally got my first wave and i stood on it the whole time. I couldn't have done it without JJ. How is he so good at this?

As we got out of the water, dad gave us some snacks and our home made iced tea. It is the best ice tea in the world.

"So kids, what did you think? Did you like the lesson?"

"I loved it, Big John. Did you see me out there? I wanna do this forever."

"Yeah dad, it was amazing. Can we do this tomorrow, too?"

Big John chuckled. "Well, they said that tomorrow the swell is at 10.00. That is when you have school, so if there are some waves after school, we can but i can't promise you anything."

The two best friends groaned.

"We can just skip school, right?" JJ asked.

"No, no we can't do that. You two have school and that is final. But i do have some more iced tea, who wants some?"
