"No... I can't... You don't understand..." And that's when it happened. The thing that i've been fearing most for weeks, finally happened. Charlie slipped and fell into the pool, knocking her head against the side in the process. It all seemed to happen in a blur. Molly screamed and everyone was forced out of the pool. As my sister was sinking, her blonde hair spread out at every angle. Bubbles were escaping to the surface of the water. I heard Molly say in her sobs,
"Is she going to die?"
That's when i jumped into the water, it was a cold shock, and it was even more of a shock when i saw a trail of blood coming from my sisters head. Her eyes were closed and black ink was running down her face. It was her mascara. Her hands were above her head. Motionless. My blood ran ice cold in my veines and i could here my heartbeat ring in my ears.
I quickly swam towards her and hoisted her up. I was panicking. I was running out of air, I was scared. But i didn't give up. I kicked so hard to escape the dark depths of the water that took away the most important thing to us. Air.
A cold breeze hit me. I couphed and kicked, screaming help when ever air filled my lungs. But I never let go of my sister, her head pressed against my shoulder, leaving a faint trail of blood. A lifeguard was holding a pole out to me telling me to grab on to it, but my eyes went blury and I couldn't hear, it was like my body was slowly shutting down... But there was no chance I was going to faint. No. I grabbed on to the pole and was hauled on to the pool side. I pushed away the lifeguards and my family. I shook my sister, yelling her name until my throat was dry.

The paramedics came and my dad prised me off my sister, dragging me away; I used every last drop of fight in me, until I couldn't fight anymore. A sea of illuminouse jackets surround my sister, my mum was crying and begging the paramedics to let her see Charlie.

"I'm her mum, she knows who I am, she needs me most right now." Her voice cracked but she still stayed strong. Although it was a short sentence but with those strong, motherly words the paramedics let my mum join them, surrounding Charlie trying to keep her alive. She lay perfectly still and I wondered if that was the last time I would see my sister.
