Leah knocked softly on the door and it opened almost immediately.
"Hello dear, you are Starr's friend right " a young woman asked smiling sweetly and Leah nodded. She had the same eyes and hair like Starr but she was a bit older so it wasn't difficult to know it's her mum.
"Come in, Starr is still searching for what to wear " The woman said opening the door wide for her to enter
"Thank you " Leah replied and sat on one of the old couches.
"I am Starr's mum"
"It's not difficult to notice, you look like her elder sister " Leah replied and they laughed.
Starr walked into the living room wearing a yellow sun dress and a flat shoe. She was surprised to see them talking and laughing like they had known each other for ages, she just told her about Leah last night.
"Hi Leah, let's go " Starr grinned
"No honey, I made some cookies " her mum replied coming out of the kitchen with a plate of cookies
"Wow they looks preety, the cookies would be upset if I leave without eating them" Leah pouted and began to eat . Starr rolled her eyes and joined her.
"Bye mum, we are taking your car " Starr said
"Alright drive safely, Leah I would love to have you around often "
"Me too, I'll see you soon " Leah waved and they walked outside
"Your mum is nice and friendly " Leah whispered as they walked to the car
"Really " Starr scoffed
"Yeah, she made me laugh a million times, you must have a good relationship with her" Leah smiled and Starr nodded
"Let's go" Starr said and entered the car while Leah got in through the passenger seat.
The drive to the store was not so bad because Leah was a great talker, she told Starr the most embarrassing things that happened to her and whatever she could think about. Starr replied some with a smile or a laugh, she isn't the type that talks much.
When they got to the department store, they separated and began to shop for the things they needed. Starr went for the items with the lowest prices because that was what she could afford.
Leah was staring at the different types of on the shelves, their prices were a bit high and she was shopping according to budget.
"These ones are the best, I buy them a lot " A masculine voice said behind and and she jumped in fright.
"Oh sorry " He chuckled. Leah turned and saw a tall guy standing behind her with blue eyes and dark hair.
"It's fine " She replied and he picked the one with the highest price and put it in her cart.
"I will go with this" She said putting it back and taking the second one
"Don't worry, I'll pay for that " He smiled and her heart flutterd, his smile was beautiful and his bright teeth could be used as a mirror.
"But .."
"No buts, let's continue shopping " He said and she nodded.
"I am Oliver " He said
"Leah" She replied
"Nice name, are you shopping for college or what?" He asked
"It's college, I'll be going next week "She replied
"Oh congratulations " He said and she nodded, while they continued shopping silently.
Starr was already done with her shopping, she paid for the items she bought and they were packed into paper bags, she took them to the car and put everything in the trunk while she leaned on the car waiting for Leah to come out. She had seen her talking and laughing with a guy earlier.
"Hey girl, I'm so for wasting your time" Leah apologized putting her things in the trunk.
"It's fine, who's that guy , he's looking at us" Starr asked.
"His name is Oliver, we just met today, he paid for everything I bought " Leah replied and Starr gasped
"Wow, do you know him before?" Starr asked
"No, we just met today, I refused but he insisted on paying, he even asked for my number " Leah shrugged
"Awwwn that's sweet " Starr giggled
"Lol, let's go home, I'm famished " Leah said and they entered the car.
"I'll drop you at your place first before I go home " Starr said
"Ummm, you don't have to worry, just drop me here, I'll find my way home " Leah replied
"Huh, is there are problem?" Starr asked
"No Starr, just drop me at that street " Leah replied pointing and Starr nodded. She dropped her at the street and waved goodbye.
Leah waited till the car was out of sight before dragging her bags down the run down street that was filled with litter and heaps of trash.
She sighed as the approached the worn house with faded paint, part of the roof was damaged and the corrugated iron sheets were missing some parts.
The windows were covered up with old papers and plastic sheets. She pushed open the rusty and creaky door that was already hanging off it's hinges. The floors creaked underneath her feet and she cursed silently as she dropped the bags on the floor. The house was quiet that means her dad wasn't at home and that was comfort to her. Starr's house was decent than this nest she called a house and she wasn't going to embarrass herself by bringing her here
"Toiletries, bed sheets and pillow cases, towels, casual wears, boots, dresses, scarves and gloves, backpack, notebooks and stationery, shampoo and conditioner, all checked " Starr muttered as she checked the list of the things she wanted to buy, she got all the necessary things she needed for now and was very happy.
After arranging everything in a box she walked to her mum's room and knocked on the door.
"Mum, are you alright " She asked
"Yes dear, I feel too tired to go to work and the McGregor's are calling " she replied opening the door. Her mum worked as a housekeeper for them.
"Don't worry, I'll help you today, besides I'm free now" Starr replied
"No dear, there's a lot of work to do" She replied
"I can't let you go like this mum, there are bags under your eyes, you need to relax for today, I'll do all the work " Starr insisted
"Thank you so much, please be careful " Her mum replied and hugged her
"I will, just relax, I'll be back on time to make dinner " Starr replied and rushed to her room to change her dress into a baggy top and trousers she usually wear for house chores and a face cap.
She picked her phone and walked out of the house, humming a song as she walked to the rich people's town.
Yayy!!! It's the second chapter, what do you think about this, would you let Starr to your house if you were Leah??.
Starr is on her way to the McGregor's, hope she doesn't get into trouble. Haha, please vote and comment
