"Spencer!" I heard Nathan yell from downstairs. "Wait a minute!" I opened my door and yelled back.

I went to the bathroom and washed my face.

I went back downstairs and found Nathan at the table.

"What is it Nathan?" I sat down on the chair next to him.

"Advice on girls." Nathan mumbled.

"Woah! You actually like girls?!" I exclaimed. "Yes, now calm down." Nathan's cheeks were a light pink.

"What's her name?" I smirked. "Melissa." Nathan smiled. "I don't want you hurt but how is she like?" I asked politely. "She's sweet and caring. She's smart too and she's crazy gorgeous." Nathan blushed again and I laughed.

"I don't want your hopes too high. But I wish you the best of luck if anything. You should treat her the same way she treats you. Be as sweet and caring she is." I smiled and he thought about it.

"Okay thanks, Spence." Nathan smiled and I nodded. "Anytime, brother. I will be in my room." I walked upstairs until Nathan called me again.

"Why don't you ever like talking about Alex?" He frowned. "I-I just can't talk about him." I looked down. "I will explain the day I'm ready." I finally looked at him. He nodded and ran to hug me. I hugged him back.

"I don't want any guy to hurt you too, Spence." "I know, your still in middle school so calm down." I laughed.

"Just looking out for you, Spence.
Especially what you do for me. You are like my other mom but better." Nathan smiled and a tears of joy slipped. My little brother can be a cutie sometimes even though he's about to be in 8th grade.

"I love you, butt head." I smiled.

"I love you too, boogers." Nathan chuckled.

"It's getting late, we should get some sleep." I suggested. "Night, Spence." Nathan said while going up to his room.

I got to my room and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I was done and crawled into bed.

-

"Willing to give me a ride now?" Nash raised an eyebrow while eating his sandwich. "Nope." I smiled. "Come on, I will find you after school you know." Nash smirked. "Stalker." I gasped and laughed.

"Hamilton, how are you today?" A blonde girl came to our table with her lunch. I stayed quiet and threw my lunch away. I came back and the girl was rambling about something.

"Maybe we should talk later." Nash interrupted her. "Oh okay, bye." She winked at Nash and gave me a dirty look.

"I'm gonna be outside for a bit." I got up and walked out of the cafeteria.

I looked back because I thought I heard someone calling my name. I shrugged it off and quickly ran to the back door of the school.

I pulled out my lighter and a cigarette.

"Thanks Alex." I mumbled while the smoke escaped my lips.

"Asshole." I put the cigarette down and sighed.

I rubbed my eyes and quickly got inside.

I saw someone running down the hall. I quietly snuck up on them.

"Nash." I mumbled.

"Really Spencer?" He raised his voice and I flinched.

"I-I can explain." I stuttered.

"Who's Alex?" Nash came up to me and looked me in the eye. "Is he giving you cigarettes, because if he is then stop talking to him." Nash demanded.

"He's someone that's in my past." I looked down.

"I know we barely know each other but who is he?" Nash frowned.

"I can't explain here but I can give you that ride." I sighed. "Sounds good, see you later." Nash smiled and left.

Can I really trust him? I groaned to myself. What did I just get myself into?

I was now screaming inside and I kicked the closest locker near me and made a run for it.

-

"I have to pick up my brother, is that fine with you?" I turned on my engine and put on my seat belt. "It's fine." Nash shrugged.

I arrived at Nathan's school and Nash was just playing his music.

Nathan saw my car and first looked confused then got in the back seat.

"Nathan, this is Nash. Nash, this is my little brother, Nathan." I awkwardly introduced them.

"Hi." They said at the same time, that totally didn't make it more awkward.

I heard No Role Modelz by J Cole and my brother and I started singing the lyrics on the way home.

"Fool me one time, shame on you. Fool me twice, can't put the blame on you. Fool me three times, fuck the peace signs. Load the chopper, let it rain on you."

"Well you guys certainly love J Cole." Nash chuckled. "Who doesn't?" I sassed.

I parked the car at our house and entered the house.

"Mom left a note." Nathan passed it to me.

"I'm working late again, sorry guys. Take care of the house." I crumbled up the paper and threw it away.

"If you want anything to eat, there's still dinner from last night. Do your homework if you have any and well freedom for you kid." I shrugged and Nathan nodded.

"I can't explain in front of my little brother." I whispered and Nash nodded.

"I will be in my room if you need anything." I told Nathan.

Nash and I walked into my room and shut the door.

I sighed while sitting on my bed.

"Is your mom here often?" Nash asked breaking out silence. "Not really." I frowned.

Why do I trust him?

"Well then." Nash scoffed.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that out loud. It's just I haven't told this to anyone." I mumbled.

"I understand." Nash nodded.

"Here's my story."
