Prologue
“Can I ask you something, Luna?”
His voice made her eyes flutter open, sparkling blue eyes staring in to his. She breathed in slowly, remembering that she had to go back to her home soon. She bit down on her bottom lip, trying to find the words to speak.
“Anything, Peter.” She responded, her hand finding it's way towards his, intertwining their fingers.
Peter furrowed his eyebrows together, as if choosing his words wisely. She watched him intently, which was something she loved to do often. After the couple of weeks of spending time with Peter, she had memorized him from head to toe; from the scar behind his ear to the birthmark on his ankle, she knew him completely.
“What is it that you see in me? What is it that makes you stay, no matter how many times we've fought?”
His arms snaked around her waist, holding on to her tightly. She thought for a moment, feeling his warm breathe next to hers. There were so many things she could say, so many things that she could go on and on about...but, she knew the right thing to say. She squeezed his hand and looked up at him, tucking a strand of her long brown hair behind her ear, smiling.
“Well, Peter...You give me a reason worth fighting for.”
