Chapter 2
Luna had been left to wonder what exactly this so called Neverland was. She couldn't help but think that Hook was just making it up, just so that she wouldn't know where they actually were. She rolled her eyes, listening to Hook talk in the distance. He had been pacing around for the last hour, deciding whether to get off the boat or not. Luna just wanted to escape from him.
“Get up. We're getting off the boat.” She heard suddenly. Without looking up, she quickly did as she was told, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear in the process. Even though she wasn't looking at him, she could feel Hook's eyes boring in to her skull. It brought chills down her spine.
“Follow me. I need to give you some rules before we get off.” She kept quiet and followed him through the hall and up the stairs, on to the deck. She felt the cool breeze against her neck and the sun soak her skin; it felt so relieving. She quickly took in her surroundings, realizing that she had never seen such a place. There were lots of trees, almost like a jungle, and little lagoons every here and there. She could see little birds or bugs, she couldn't quite tell, floating around the sky and if she wasn't mistaken, she could've sworn she saw a woman on the rocks...with a tail. A tail? She took a double take and realized that her eyes weren't playing tricks on her...it was a mermaid. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
“This is Neverland. No one ages here. Everyone stays their own age. It's quite a magical place...full of mermaids, natives, fairies,” He paused as if to rethink what he was about to say, “And the Lost Boys.” She could hear the darkness to his voice when he said their name. She was very confused at the moment. It was hard to take it all in, it felt like a dream.
“The...lost boys?” Luna asked, curiously. He squinted his eyes at her and took a deep breath. She eyed all of the pirates that were around Hook.
“Yes, the lost boys. Peter Pan is their leader. They're dangerous. Very dangerous. You should never ever be near them. They will kill you.” Her heart fluttered at the name 'Peter Pan'. She refused to believe that someone who had come to fight Hook would be dangerous. She refused to believe it.
“Peter Pan doesn't sound like a bad guy.” She placed her hand on her hip, and flipped her long hair behind her shoulder. She could hear the faint chuckle coming from the pirates, making her lift an eyebrow. Was Peter Pan really bad? She couldn't think of anyone worse than Captain Hook, so he couldn't be that bad.
“Oh, darling. Peter Pan is a monster. He's someone to be terrified of. Very terrified.” He smirked, a sparkle in his eyes, “Anyways,” He continued, “Rule 1. You must stay in my sites wherever we go. I will not hesitate to kill you if I find out that you have disappeared.”
She shuddered, clenching her fists.
“Rule 2. You will do as I say when I say. No excuses.” Wiping some dirt off his shirt he kept talking, “And rule 3 is that you will not get near Peter Pan. Never. If he ever comes to me, you will hide...it's for, er, your protection.” She could hear the lies behind his voice, making it clear to her that Peter Pan was, in fact, not bad at all. Maybe he could save her.
“Alright.” She mumbled, not bothering to care if he heard her or not. She watched as Captain Hook scurried towards a huge cardboard box and pulled out some hand cuffs, making his way towards her. He pulled her hands behind her back and handcuffed them so that she would not be able to move her hands. She wanted to do so many bad things to him...she would kill him whenever she got the chance.
The rest of the pirates had already begun to get off of the wooden boat, weapons in hand. Luna felt Hook shove her forward, making her almost trip. Keeping his eyes on Luna, Hook made his way off the boat, motioning for Luna to stay right beside him.
