As the waiter walks away, Thomas's phone buzzes in his pocket. He pulls his phone from his pocket and reads the message carefully. "Do you mind leaving now?" He asks, not giving an explanation. "Not at all, but why?" He gives a slight smirk, and stands from his chair. "You'll see." He grabs my hand and pulls me past the red velvet rope and out the restaurant doors. "Thomas, what's going on?" I question him as we climb into the car. "Like I said, you'll see," a grin appears on the edge of his mouth, telling me he has something up his sleeve for tonight. Thomas drives onto the highway, and makes a detour down a dirt road. "Are you sure you know where you're going?" I ask uneasily, sitting up in my seat to peek my head slightly out the window. "Absolutely," a grin takes over his face. "Well, we might as well turn on some music." I turn the radio dial, changing it to the nearest station. As I hear the beginning tune, the car ride and being anxious suddenly becomes less important. "I love this song!" I laugh as I scream over my favorite song. "Oh don't you dare look back, just keep your eyes on me," I sing horribly along with the song, but laughing at myself as I do it. "I said you're holding back," Thomas finishes the sentence for me. "You know this song?" I laugh as I continue to mouth the words. "This is my all time favorite song," he jokes. "This woman is my destiny, she said ooooh," he continues singing, then looks over at me as if it's my cue. "Shut up and dance with me!" We giggle and laugh uncontrollably, while Thomas tries to concentrate on driving. As we remain singing, Thomas pulls the car down a long driveway. I lean forward to turn the volume dial to the left, lightening the sound. "So, this is it?" I ask, staring at the wooden building at the end of the lane. "Yep." Once we pull up to the house, I get a clear view of the structure. It seems like an old log cabin, that certainly had better days. One of the upstairs windows is busted out, and is covered by plastic. My attention draws toward the bottom windows, that have colorful light beams shining out of them, signaling the party had already started. Before I snap out of my daze, Thomas is already out of the car. I open my door, and lightly shut it behind me, then cross the grassy area to the porch as Thomas knocks on the door. A few seconds later the door swings open, revealing a tall man, brown hair and the brightest blue eyes I'd ever seen. He greets you with a smile, then returns his attention to Thomas. "Hey buddy! Long time no see," he says as he hugs Thomas, patting his back. "Carter, this is y/n." Thomas grins as he introduces us to each other. "It's a pleasure to meet you," I hold out my hand for him to shake it. He takes my hand, but instead of shaking it, he gets down on one knee and kisses my hand lightly. "The pleasures all mine," he grins. I feel a little uncomfortable by his gesture, but I think he was just being friendly. We stand at the door in silence for a moment before Carter invites us in, showing us around the wooden cabin. The inside looks much nicer than the outside, giving a nice homey feel to it. Carter shows us the kitchen last, and introduces us to his sister, Maya. She's not much younger than me, she has bleach blonde hair, and brown eyes. Carter and Maya don't look much alike, they must be related through their mother and different fathers. "Carter, where's the bathroom?" I ask. "Let me just show you," he says, leading me towards the stairs.
