Chapter 10: Plague of Guilt..

I woke up, looking next to me to see that Edmund wasn't next to me anymore. I got up quickly and sat up. I stared at the wall across the room which was lit up by the sun shining through the windows. Memories from last night flooded in. The feeling of his hands on my wrists. The feeling of his arm around me. The feeling of his kiss.

Then the question Edmund asked hit me.

"What are we?"

Those words echoed in my head as I fell back on the bed, now laying flat on my back, thinking it through.

"Did Edmund really want to pursue a relationship with me?"

These thoughts swarmed my head before they got interrupted with a knock on my door.

"COME IN" I called as Edmund walked in my room. Speak of the devil..Or would it be THINK of the devil..?

"Hey," He said, entering my room, closing the door behind him, "Sleep well?"

I nodded while stretching "Yeah, how long was I asleep?" I asked.

"A while," Edmund answered before sitting next to me on the bed. "We already had a discussion about the letter." He told me.

"Oh, that's good." I said, "What's the conclusion?"

"Apart from the confidential stuff, we don't know much for now." He told me while taking off his crown to fix his hair, leaving me slightly disappointed.

"Can you.. Sleep in my room again tonight?" I asked, "I'm just scared." Which was really only half of the truth..I totally didn't want him to be in my room at night so we could spend more time together..No..

"Yeah," He accepted my request without even thinking, "Yeah of course." He put his crown back on his head as I admired his features.

"Edmund.." I began, "Can we..Kiss again..?" I asked, not even thinking about what I was gonna say, it just slipped out. Making heat rise to my face once I realized what I just let slip out. Fortunately, Edmund seemed.. Glad..? that I asked.

"Yeah," He said "Yeah, I'd love that." He said before putting his hands on my waist while I put one arm under his arm and onto his back and my other hand on the back of his head as I leaned in to kiss him.

But we got interrupted.

AGAIN.

We both quickly pulled away slightly from each other when we heard a sudden noise. Edmund gently let go of my hips as he grabbed his sword and got up, discovering it was just a letter that got in through the window.

Edmund ran to the window to look around. But he saw nobody, not a trace. Not even a clue that someone was here.

Except for a dark pigeon that was flying away. But he thought nothing of it and neither did I.

"What is it?" I asked him as he turned to me from the window.

"It's a letter" He said, picking it up, holding onto his crown to make sure it doesn't fall.

"How did that..Even get there?" I said, getting up to look out the window, but seeing nothing.

"I don't know.." Edmund responded with concern, "But-"

"EDMUND!!" Lucy called, running in, voice husky from being out of breath, "You better come quickly!! We might have some information on the Black Witch." She told him, seeming alarmed and sparking interest in Edmund.
