The announcements of the tournament of champions had the Iron Dragons team in an uproar of energy and confidence.
"No dojo will take us down." Malcom says as the group discusses what they want to train in for the rest of the day.
"The captains should practice with us. Have each captain go against one of us." Liena taps Zia's shoulder.
"Malcom against Axel and Zia against Zara." The group stands up, warming up in the gym.
Spending the entire day training was exhausting but worth it. The group got into the mindset of winning and it pushed them more.
In the evening, Zia waited until Zara and Liena were asleep to sneak over to the room her and Kwon had been sharing.
Luckily Zara and Liena fell asleep early so Zia easily snuck out of their room to go and meet Kwon.
She knocked on the door which quickly opened and pulled her inside, shutting the door behind her.
Kwon nuzzled his face in her neck, "I missed you." He mumbled, kissing her neck softly.
"You saw me this morning." Zia ran her hands through his hair. "Can you stay with me tonight?" He asked, looking into her eyes.
"I think it's best for us to sleep separately tonight, I want us both to be focused." Zia shakes her head.
They spent an hour together talking and practicing some Karate hand moves before Zia kissed him once more before heading back to her room.
She'd gotten a good sleep, waking up with a smile, stretching and preparing herself before heading to the venue with her team.
The four dojo's walked in with confidence, the venue buzzing with energy and excitement.
"I can't believe this is it, whatever happens will affect our futures." Liena squeeze's Zia's hand.
"I have full confidence in our captains." Aaron and Malcom nod.
"Axel and Zara are both undefeated, no dojo stands a chance." Liena smiles in excitement.
"You're right, we strive with confidence and skill." Zia nods, looking around to find Kwon.
"Zia, Liena, help Zara stretch, Aaron, Malcom, help Axel." Sensei Wolf orders.
"Yes Sensei." The 4 head over to the two captains, helping them get stretched and ready.
"Are you nervous?" Zia asks her sister.
"No, I want to wipe the mat with that bitches face." Zara says angrily looking at the blonde Cobra Kai member.
"The girl who knocked that other girls teeth out?" Liena looks over at the blonde.
"Yeah that's her." Zia tells Liena while helping Zara stretch her leg higher.
"Welcome, competitors, to the semifinal round of the Sekai Taikai. Each dojo will retain the points they have accumulated thus far."
"Each match will consist of three two-minute rounds with unlimited scoring and no stoppages." Gunther explains the expectations of the round.
"One point for a hit. Ten for a knockdown. And should anyone score a knockout, that's worth twenty. So it's still anyone's tournament to win."
"Because at this stage of the tournament, no deficit is too large to overcome. Best of luck to you all, and may the best dojo win." Gunther finished.
Zia looks over at Kwon, her eyes filled with a spark, before he could look back at her, Liena snaps her out of it.
"Zia, Sensei Wolf is calling you." Liena points, Zia nods and heads over.
"Yes Sensei?"
"Do not let that boy distract you, focus on your teammates, not an enemy, do you understand?" Sensei Wolf says in his low voice.
"Yes Sensei, I understand, and I promise, he will not become a distraction." Zia bows before heading back to Liena and Zara.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, competitors and senseis, please welcome to the mat our first semifinalists."
"From Furia de Pantera, Diego Aguilar, and from Cobra Kai, Kwon Jae-sung." Kwon walked onto the mat full confidence.
Making eye contact with her before focusing on the ref.
When the ref said fight, Zia's eyes followed Kwon carefully, watching each of his moves.
She watched as he kicked his opponent straight in the chest.
"Point!" The ref called out.
Kwon had blocked almost every single one of Diego's hits and kicks. Kicking him with a 360 kick, knocking him out.
"The winner by knockout, earning an impressive 27 points for Cobra Kai, along with the first spot in our boys' final, Kwon Jae-sung!" The announcement created cheers.
Zia nodded to herself, "Your boyfriend's impressive." Zia's eyes quickly moved to Liena.
"What did you say?" Zia asked Liena. "Your boyfriend's really good." She said.
"He's not my boyfriend, he's..." Zia pauses, unaware of what to say.
"He's what?" Liena asks with curiosity.
"I don't know but he's-" Zia get's cut off by Liena.
"Hot? Sexy? Good in bed?" Zia's eyes turned wide.
"You're insane." Zia shakes her head.
"You've been sneaking out of the room to go see him, and I saw you both at the bar." Liena says.
"Well..." Zia couldn't even speak.
"Who knew the ice heart Zia could fall in love again?" Liena chuckles.
"I do love him, and right now, I am calling him my boyfriend." Zia nods, watching him.
