My heart pounded as I entered the enormous building with the words Savory Spices endorsed on top. This interview could either make me or break me.

I took the metro again, but today the dread of that stalker was negligible in front of this interview. Afterall, compulsion is bigger than fear.

"Hey, may I know where the interviews are conducted? This is Avika Mehra." I asked the receptionist as calmly as possible with the nervousness rising in my gut.

The receptionist looked at me attentively and asked me to repeat my name before giving me the way towards the lift. 3rd floor, left, 2nd room. 3rd floor, left, 2nd room.

I switched my phone off which was thankfully charged today. As soon as I was about to reach the lift, a guy called behind me.

"Hey miss, wrong one."

I looked behind me to see a tall Dutch guy, well dressed, good body and I must say, with his accent, he had quite a charming personality.

Wait, he looks like he holds a good position. Shit, is this lift for the higher individuals?

What discriminating humans!

"That lift is under maintenance. Take this one." He clicked on the call button of another lift while speaking.

Nevermind, I take it back.

"Shouldn't there be some kind of sign saying that?" Wow, you can't be quiet for a second Avu. The interview's gone if he's the interviewer or something.

"Well it did malfunction recently. But I will ask them to do that, for sure." He walked in the other lift with me. "So, joined recently? Sorry, but I just never saw you here before."

"Oh, uh not exactly, just for a interview." My stomach churned again with agitation.

"You can chill out. I am sure you'll get it. Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself. Hey, I am Anton De Vries."

"Avika Mehra. So like what do you do? I mean, what's your job over here?"

"Um, simply put, I work in the marketing area. Are you by any chance interviewing for the same field?"

"Not exactly, I am more of a tech person." As our conversation continued, my heart felt calmer.

"Aw, my bad. Well, this is your floor. See you later mooi, I hope." He winked at me with confidence, while the only thing my overthinking brain could think of was how many more companies I would have to interview after this.
