I scuttled through the lobby as his face flashed across my mind continuously.

"Going somewhere, Mrs. Malhotra."

Every inch of my dreadly past stood before me, and it was too much to process, too unbelievable to be real.

*Flashback*

"What are you doing here Ishaan?" My voice trembled while my throat felt heavy.

"Water, darling? It hurt you a lot back there right, I am sorry." He lightly smiled at me as he passed a water bottle. Still as composed as though we have been friends for ages. As if I didn't break his heart.

"You didn't answer my question." I swallowed the water but it didn't help.

"You didn't really did your research baby. As for your pretty curious brain, a company like this won't really look nice without an owner, right? But I might take a break now that you're here."

"Well, I am not surprised. Congrats Ishaan." Still this carefree attitude, the people here must really like their cool and handsome boss. He hasn't changed a shred except for being more stiff and blazing hot. Like always.

"Come on, don't be this formal Avika. You are breaking my heart again, sweetheart."

"Don't call me that. I have to go, see you later." I strolled towards the lift.

"Hm, let me guess. Catching a flight?" I halted abruptly and turned to meet his brown sparkling eyes again. His eyes, they always had a special effect on me, no matter how much efforts I made, my eyes would always be the first to shy away, with my cheeks on fire. Unfortunately, for me the effect never tapered off.

"How did you know about that. Are you stalking me?"

"Oh come on don't think too ahead of yourself. You mentioned it yourself in the interview, remember. So when's the flight?"

"And what makes you think I will tell you about it. Oh right, because you are my 'boss' now? Come to think of it, you seem too unoccupied to be listening to interviews of mere employees."

"Mhm, safe to say that my curiosity got the best out of me . But don't act like we are nothing except 'work colleagues'. I know you in and out, completely. Don't you think it's a bit unprofessional for your 'boss' to know that much about his mere employee."

"Ishaan, it's been 3 years. I have changed, a lot, so you might rethink about knowing me completely. We had a past, and now it's over."

He edged towards me cornering me against the wall. "That's where you are making a mistake Avu. It's not over, not yet, not until I am dead. You believed in destiny right, see where it brought us. Together, once again."
