She's lying on the bed, phone in hand, lost in her series. The room is dimly lit, and the glow from her phone reflects on her face. He walks in, his voice breaking her focus.
"Why aren’t you studying? Exams are right around the corner!" She glances at him but doesn’t respond, instead rolling her eyes and returning to her phone. In her mind, she begins humming.
"Tu mard nhi mathe k dard hawa raja ji…"
She suppresses a smirk, pretending to be focused on her phone, but he catches the faint smile.
He took steps toward her and asked, raising an eyebrow, "What’s so funny? What’s going on in that little head of yours?"
She quickly composes herself, shrugging. "Nothing. Just thinking about how lucky I am to have such a… concerned husband."
Her tone drips with sarcasm as she flashes him an innocent smile. He narrows his eyes, crossing his arms.
"Uh-huh. You’re lucky, all right. Now, let’s see how lucky you feel after you fail your exams."
He leans closer, snatching the phone from her hand, leaving her protesting as he chuckles at her flustered reaction.
He took a few steps toward her, his brow arched in curiosity. “What’s so funny? What’s going on in that little head of yours?”
Drishti quickly composed herself, shrugging nonchalantly. “Nothing. Just thinking about how lucky I am to have such a… concerned husband,” she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm as she flashed him an innocent smile.
His eyes narrowed as he crossed his arms, clearly not buying her act. “Uh-huh. You’re lucky, all right. Now let’s see how lucky you feel after you fail your exams.”
Before she could react, he leaned in and swiftly snatched her phone from her hands.
“Hey!” she protested, scrambling to sit up as he chuckled at her flustered reaction.
She sat on her knees on the bed, glaring at him with mock indignation. “My series was playing! I’ll study later! And... how come you’re home so early today?” she asked, her tone turning inquisitive.
Without answering, he slid her phone into his pant pocket, and her jaw dropped in shock as realization dawned.
“What are you doing? Give me my phone back!” she pleaded, joining her hands dramatically, her eyes wide with desperation.
Clicking his tongue in mock disapproval, he said firmly, “Drishti.” His voice carried just enough authority to make her pout, and she scrunched her nose in frustration, clearly disliking the way he said her name.
As he stood close, watching her with amusement, Drishti decided to play her own little trick. Rising to her knees on the bed, she began moving toward him ever so slowly, trying to appear casual, though her intentions were anything but subtle.
He smirked, easily catching on to her mischief but said nothing, letting her think she had the upper hand.
When she was close enough, she tilted her head up to meet his eyes. He leaned down slightly, matching her gaze, his expression one of quiet intrigue. She batted her eyelashes in an exaggerated, almost comical attempt at seduction.
He raised an eyebrow, and she responded with an even bigger smile, feigning innocence.
Gently, she placed her hand over his, her voice soft and sweet. “Why do you always call me by my name? Why not give me a nickname… something romantic, like lovers do?”
His eyes narrowed suspiciously, his smirk widening. “Do you really think I don’t understand what you’re trying to do?” he asked, his tone teasing.
