I woke up this morning with the sunlight gleaming through my window and an excited feeling in my chest.

I started making a mental list of great things about this moment - it really helps me in the morning-

Then I looked at the clock.

Oh. My. God

This is the worst possible thing that could ever happen to me today. I'M GONNA BE LATE FOR MY AUDITION!

I got up as quick as I could, got my clothes on, grabbed my bag and rushed out the door.

I tried to hail a cab but no such luck. I'm gonna have to walk. Damn it.

I started running down West 71st street then turned onto Broadway. About 10 minutes later I arrived at Juilliard.

As I walked into the main room I immediately realized that the competition would be fierce.

Everywhere I looked I saw people, people with coaches, people with huge portfolios, people who will soon attend Juilliard.

I walked up to the sign in desk-

"Hi my name is Loriena Johnson and I'm here for the audition." I said.

"Which audition?"

"The uh Drama Division." I answered

"Okay please take a seat and we will be with you shortly."

"Thanks." I said

When I sat down I got out my portfolio and began looking it over. After a few minutes of reading it I heard my name on the loudspeaker:

"Will Loriena Johnson please come to the Concert Hall, I repeat, Loriena Johnson to the Concert Hall."

I started to feel shivers going down my spine as I walked to the Concert Hall. When I got to the door, a girl with a sad look on her face walked out.
"It's tough in there," she said, then she grabbed my shoulder "be precise." She whispered. "Thanks" I say flatly.

When I walked into the room- scratch that HUGE room- I was instantly petrified of the row of judges (all of which have been on Broadway).

"Hi my name is Loriena Johnson..."
