Ann had you settled on a cot in fresh clothes. You weren't sure whose it was, you doubted it was Ann's considering she didn't seem like the type to wear baggy pants and faded t-shirts of some obscure band. Still, it was comfortable.

It was difficult to not look at your hands which how much they itched. The sensation nearly burning, but you relented. Lips pursed, Ann looked you over, fixing her mask.

"I know this is a lot to take in. The change of scenery and the shock of everything."

She rest a gloved hand on your shoulder, the gaze of her visible eye softening. Your head rose to meet her stare.

"But you will get back on your feet."

Or at least the closest thing to it.

"Normalcy doesn't exist here, but you'll grow to find comfort in that."

She squeezed your shoulder. You weren't sure how much you believed of that, but it was the thought that counted you supposed.

"Thank you, Ann," you said through a whisper.

It wasn't visible but her lips pursed, as her brows knit together in silent thought. Whatever it was however, she didn't voice. Her hand soon fell away from you as she fixed her outfit, brushing it off. She seemed to like being immaculate in appearance.

"Now then. Are you sure you're alright with those...degenerates coming in?" You couldn't see it but you had a feeling her lip curled in disgust as she referred to those who wanted to see you. A small huff of amusement escaped your nose at her tone.

Nodding once, your hands squeezed. Crescent marks from your nails embedded into your palms. It was better than nothing to ease the itch.

She paused for a moment eyeing you.

   "And your brother?"

Your eyes closed, feeling an uneasy pain pulsing behind them.

"Could you check on him for me?" Is what you asked instead of voicing the swarming nervousness festering in your mind. The nurse nodded, "Of course. Whenever you're ready."

With that she paced back over to the door of the medical room so to speak. She opened the door only to narrow her eyes at the man at the door. She sighed and waved him in, before brushing past him, purposefully bumping her shoulder into him.

In response, the demon let out a warning rumble of annoyance from deep in his chest. Before his attention quickly turned back to the room.

It was a bit comical to see a navy blue mask pop up from around the doorway, gloved hand lingering on the door. You assumed Jack was about to say something only to be cut off as the large creature from before with a stitched beak nudged its head against his back, forcing him to stumble inside.
