Chapter 6 – The Usual Day

When I woke up that morning, Blake was practically smothering me in my bed. For some strange alien reason, our parents allowed us more sleepovers than we probably deserved and even during weekdays, like today, so waking up with Blake lying halfway over me and holding on to me like a boa constrictor happened more often than not.

Which was kind of weird—I meant, not the waking up in Blake's arms but the way he was holding on to me like I could suddenly disappear or run away. That could never happen, because first, I was madly in love with that boy and second, because well, hey this was my house and my room—why would I leave?

I never really understood that underlying fear that Blake always seemed to shoulder, that at one point I would abandon him, that at any point everyone he cared about might abandon him. I got where it came from—from losing his brother—but it just never made sense to me.

Who in their sane minds would leave that hottie?

My slight waking-up-stirring woke up Blake and he made a slight groaning noise, his hold on me tightening.

"If you keep that up you'll make freshly pressed Lexi juice," I joked, trying to wake the boy up properly.

"Hmm, you mean Pumpkin juice—the only kind of juice that's worth drinking," Blake answered, his voice still groggy with sleep, but his now fully opened eyes mischievous.

I flicked his noise. "Little bitch, shut up, my whole family is in the house," I hissed, trying to get out of his arms. No innuendos in bed while my whole family could be listening in. That was my limit.

Blake chuckled, pressing his nose in the crook of my neck. "Little bitch? Really?"

"Yeah, little bitch," I kept trying to wriggle out of his grip but it was useless. "Got a problem with that?"

"None at all Pumpkin," Blake replied and then started to kiss my neck and I was suddenly less incline to get out of his arms. Though I should totally still be.

It was kind of useless to really fight it though, so my hands tangled in his hair and my eyes closed and I sighed contently. And then Blake's hand slipped under my shirt going to my boob and he was pressing himself on me and if he kept at it, the whole 'no fornication during sleepovers with my whole family in the house' deal would go up in flames.

I had no idea where the strength I got to say this came from but I still mumbled a very pitiful, "Blake, stop."

Blake's lips hovered over my skin. "I'm a starving man in front of a feast," he mumbled, planting a kiss on my collarbone, but his hand got out of my shirt, and he still had a smile on his lips so I guess he wasn't that miserable.

"Tyler could totally walk in, seriously stop it," I warned him, backing up a bit.

Blake shook his head slightly, but kept smiling and pushed himself off of me. "No way in hell that Tyler could walk in on us right now. You're the one waking him up."

"You never know. We totally have that kind of luck."

"Speaking of your dearest little brother, we should go wake him up." And then Blake was on his feet, grabbing his shirt that was on my chair.

I sat in my bed and narrowed my eyes at him. If he had a mustache, that would be the time where he would be twitching it. "Oh, oh... I don't like that smile."

"You don't have to worry about that smile," Blake assured me. "Your brother should though."

I quickly followed my boyfriend out of my room but wasn't quick enough to stop him, and he was the first to walk into my brother's room.

"Oh Tyyyyyyler" Blake crooned and the second Tyler cracked an eye open, Blake grabbed his mattress and flipped it, sending my brother flying on the ground.

"BLAKE EATON YOU FUCKING NOOB!" Tyler yelled and Blake was just laughing hysterically and then Tyler was running at him and next thing I knew Blake was trying to hide behind me while Tyler was trying to kick him or punch him or throw a lamp at him, it was all sorts of confusing so I just did my best to get out of the room as fast as I could and made my way downstairs.

My dad was standing behind the counter making eggs while my mom quickly ate her breakfast reading the journal. I went to grab a bowl and cereals.

"Morning my favourite parental figures," I greeted, smiling.

"Don't think flattery will not get you grounded if your boyfriend breaks one of my lamps again," Mom warned, never looking up from her journal. You could still clearly hear the boys running around upstairs and probably knocking tables as they went.

Silly boys... "I'll take the punishment only if Tyler does too."

Before Mom could answer, I heard my older sister Annabelle yelling, "TYLER GRAYSON! BLAKE EATON! GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME, MY HAIR IS PERFECT!"

I was still chuckling when Anna walked into the kitchen, pouting. "Seriously, get your boyfriend on a leash or don't let him hang around Tyler so much, they're a baaaad combo."

"I think they're a terrific combo," Dad pitched in, grinning.

"And that is why, honey dear you're the one who had to bail them out after that MacDonald incident," Mom reminded him.

"But you got them out of court," Dad answered.

I shook my head. Yeah, maybe Tyler and Blake should stop seeing each other so much.

"We're surrounded by very silly men my dears," Mom said to me and Annabelle.

"Yeah we are," Annabelle grumbled, sipping on her coffee.

"Alright, I have to go, I'm going to be late," Mom announced, quickly stuffing her wallet and documents into her purse. "Don't forget we have dinner reservations tonight honey?"

"Sure thing. Have fun at work, knock them dead!" Dad yelled after her, giving her two thumbs up.

Mom just rolled her eyes and left the house.

Tyler and Blake took advantage of the fact that mom had left to walk into the kitchen.

"Good morning father in law," Blake greeted. Both Anna, Tyler and I rolled our eyes at that.

"Good morning son in law!" Dad replied just as happily.

"This is seriously freaky," Annabelle told me over her cup of coffee, making fake shuddering moves.

"Tell me about it..." I mumbled.

Quickly, we all ate our breakfast, not without interludes where Blake or Tyler would punch the other and then we all got into Anna's car, to drive to school together, Tyler ridding shut gun and Blake and I sitting in the back seat.

And just like that I leaned my head on Blake's shoulder and smiled contently.

If I could live every day like this, I would be happy.
